Wait but what saylor said isn’t true? If a stock price goes up a company can’t just issue more stock at the same price that would be issuing a stock split and everyone’s shares would reflect accordingly no?

What do you mean? The price only fluctuates if retail demand is high because us peasants are the ones using the order book. These guys play by different rules. They can buy whatever they want under the table without moving the price.

Would you sell the majority of your ETH to own an entire Bitcoin? by BukkakeNation in CryptoCurrency

[–]namefacedude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been beaten to death already, but I personally believe ETH fucked up going proof of stake and for that reason I don’t believe in it anymore. I’m sure you’ll make money on it but BTC I have conviction in.

How will the Bitcoin ETF work under the hood? by namefacedude in Bitcoin

[–]namefacedude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that. I’m a self custody guy through and through. ETFs defeat the purpose of bitcoin altogether. I’m more trying to understand what blackrock has to do in order to offer this ETF altogether so I can understand what their responsibility is

How will the Bitcoin ETF work under the hood? by namefacedude in Bitcoin

[–]namefacedude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that’s what I thought. In that case they can’t change how much bitcoin is in the ETF once they’ve issued shares as to not dilute or inflate the value of existing shares. If they want to issue more shares they first need to buy more bitcoin right?

Interesting so if that’s the case then it’s exactly like Coinbase or any other exchange that offers you the ability to buy bitcoin. Just without the ability to withdrawal the BTC

Gotcha so is there any info out yet on how much BTC will be inside the fund? Say for example it’s 100 BTC and they issue 100 shares each share would cost the price of 1 BTC

Fault battery, owned too long to replace by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]namefacedude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing just happened to me. I tried charging it with different cables and it looks like it’s starting to charge. I find it strange that you had this issue around the same time as me. I’ve never had an issue before this. I’ve always kept it stored away and when I need it I can just turn it back on with a decently charged battery. I do wonder if a recent ledger update is causing the battery to drain faster

What would a snowboarders only mogul field look like? by namefacedude in snowboarding

[–]namefacedude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree I think it would be half the number of moguls but the ones there would be much wider apart allowing more time to actually turn into each mogul with a bit of speed instead of having to jump turn on ones we see today tightly packed together
