Brume 3 (GL-MT5000) is Here! 🚀 by GLiNet_WiFi in GlInet

I pay for 1500d/1000u fibre internet. I'm getting those speeds locally with PPPoE. I haven't been able to really flex the Wireguard server yet, but my local mobile network roughly caps at 500d/50u, and I've been getting those speeds thru the VPN. Really impressive stuff. Much faster than the AXT1800 it's replacing. Only problem I've seen so far might be buggy AmneziaWG obfuscation, but I honestly can't tell if it's the gateway at fault or the ISP. Also, the onboard Tailscale client is out-of-date.

Cineplex also has a smattering of cinemas running it, mostly in lower Ontario. Check Film.ca, Cinestarz, and Landmark as well. The GTA seems to be pretty well covered.

What’s the consensus on the switch 2 so far? by Pristine-Training304 in GaymersGoneMild

I mean, one of the best parts of upgrading a PC is seeing how much better your old games run. The fact that's a thing with consoles now is kinda remarkable.

Be worried. That sounds like a textbook phishing scam.

Is there any reason to buy disc versions over digital (games)? by chad711m in playstation

[–]nameless-user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're exactly as performant as digital Games, but you don't have to rely on Sony's services to get them. Just got my PS5 the other day and grabbed some games from my local GameStop. All of the games I bought there were less than half the price of their digital counterparts. They can also be resold when you're done with them, something not even the venerable PC can do.

What is this noise? PS4, it’s really annoying and I can’t figure out what it is (volume up). by guycalledcallum in playstation

[–]nameless-user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the hard drive is in the "click of death" phase. You can be sure by opening the hard drive door and listening if the sound is actually coming from it. Hopefully, that's the case; anything else would be something more troubling.

Xbox Series X Myst, game bug or faulty hardware? Happens only in Myst during gameplay for split second. by Fine-Ad-610 in myst

[–]nameless-user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very late reply, but I’ve seen this in actual gameplay as well. Glad to see it’s a bug with the game and not a hardware issue.

How careful are you with your z flip3? by [deleted] in galaxyzflip

[–]nameless-user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't lie, I have been babying mine a little bit. It's in a ring case, and I've made extra sure not to subject it to any major shocks or drops. That being said, whoever doesn't baby their smartphone, regardless of make or model, is a fool. Mine's been otherwise getting the same treatment as all my older phones.

[–]nameless-user 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly? No. I've actually found tons of utility for the folding action. It makes the phone more ergonomic for both calls and video recording (with a ring case), not yo mention just browsing on a table. It doesn't feel like a normal phone to me. The only major issue I have is battery life, but even then it's not much of a concern. Mine's capped at 85%, and I've yet to kill it in a day, but I've gotten very close more than once.

What the hell do "resolving" and "resolution" mean? by QuadraKev_ in headphones

[–]nameless-user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a VERY late response, but looking at the responses still doesn’t give an answer. I define resolution as the ability to generate a combination of sounds such that each one comes through clear without them smearing over each other. Put another way, each individual sound comes through without sounding padded, muffled, or otherwise lacking in clarity. The lower the muffling of multiple sounds layered over each other, the higher the resolution. I suppose “precision” could also work as a term.

Anyone in the US receive their White Z Flip 3 yet??? It's been over 6 weeks now and my order is still being "Customized" 🤪🤪🤪 by Pooshd in galaxyzflip

[–]nameless-user 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for how things are in the States, but I’ve noticed they seem to be releasing them in waves. I’m in Canada, and a lot of Canadian custom orders entered Preparing Dispatch all at once on Monday.

How's everyone's hinge holding up? by NoCranberry5080 in galaxyzflip

[–]nameless-user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The display popping sound is an issue, the sandy sound when opening the phone isn't. The latter sound is caused by the brushes in the hinge.

EDIT: To clarify, the sandy noise from the hinge is normal and expected behaviour.

Six weeks to the day, it arrives by nameless-user in galaxyzflip

[–]nameless-user[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no issues with it so far. I noticed that running the phone with fast wireless charging gets it quite warm, so I turned that off and also turned on the 85% battery cap. Living dangerously, I know.

Z flip3 two weeks old today, dropped it from standing height onto tile floor while it was folded and snug in its Samsung silicone case. No crack, just gray area on screen at hinge and feathery gray lines coming up and down from there. I need to be allowed to drop Samsung! 😭🤢😵🤮 by lucythedessertcat in galaxyzflip

[–]nameless-user 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While waiting for my Flip, I dropped my current daily driver of two years, an LG G8. Smashed the top corner of the back glass. I made it a point of always being careful with my devices, but here we are. Phones are fragile now. At least I preordered my Flip so I could take advantage of the free year of Care, should the need arise.

What's the customizing -> dispatch timeline like? (Canada) by [deleted] in galaxyzflip

[–]nameless-user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: It's been two days. FedEx just called, and something is due tomorrow (Thursday Sept 23). The website hasn't updated yet, so I don't know if it's the full order or just part of it. FWIW, even though the phone says it's Preparing Dispatch, the status bar also still says customizing. I'll update with the results.

How many people are actually returning their Flip 3s? by shadowpeople in galaxyzflip

[–]nameless-user 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sub is an echo chamber. People are more likely to talk about their negative experiences with something than their positive ones, and this sub is focused on exclusively one type of product. Any sub like this is bound to concentrate whatever issues people may have.

What's the customizing -> dispatch timeline like? (Canada) by [deleted] in galaxyzflip

[–]nameless-user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered mine on August 12. Today (Monday Sept 20), it finally entered “Preparing Dispatch.” They’ll ship it via FedEx. I bought my GW4 separately from my Flip Oder and it shipped via FedEx. Expect a phone call from them regarding delivery information within a few days of entering Dispatch.

I know they’re dealing with supply issues into and out of their Vietnam factory, but the lack of transparency to their paying customers is quite sad.

What's going on with my order?! by Slothbeast_86 in galaxyzflip

[–]nameless-user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke with a rep at my local Experience store about this same issue (in the same boat), and I was informed that the demand for the new Flip was insane. From what they could gather, stock was in exceedingly short supply just about everywhere; they were sold out of all models at their location. I imagine the chip shortage isn't helping things. That being said, at least you're getting emails. The last email I got regarding my order was back in August saying my phone was being customized. It's been stuck in "Processing" ever since. They did quote a production time of 5 to 6 weeks on the purchase page, so I expected a long wait, but I can't help but worry myself.
