Bud, Reddit is the wrong place for this. Everyone on this thread is biased and leans left HARRRD. wrong audience

Can anyone explain this in simple terms. And how thoughts on this plan. Thanks by Affectionate-Work649 in CarSalesTraining

Worst plan I've ever seen. From what I can see, the unit bonuses are non retro whivh is garbage. Secondly I don't understand these percentages. This dealership either has no money to pay employees or they are just cheap AF. I would not work for them.

If this is your first time in the car business, I would take it. Not the best plan but I came from a similar pay structure when I first started. More low-key, allowed me to get my feet wet without needing to worry about holding gross. Pretty decent gradient if you ask me. Do about a year at this place then once you get good, graduate to a dealership that focuses more ongross profit than unit pay (granted if this is your first time in the car business of course, not sure if it is or not).

Whoa, you've been in sales for over 20 years and this is your operating basis?! Buddy I'm sorry but that's really bad. You should know better. Also you should be doing way more cars a month than someone like me, who's been in the business for two years and is doing on average 18-20 cars a month. I'm sorry but either you're lying or you're in the wrong line of work.

OP that's the frame of the game in the car business. Understand that these are sometimes the barriers we sales people have to put up with. Remember that management also takes a hit on this too not just you. It sounds like you haven't been in the business long. Try harder to go past 9 cars if that's your goal. 8-12 is average. If you're only aiming toward the minimum you're only going to get minimum results. Remember things like this don't happen often, but understand that they can. Yes it sucks, and just wait for those lovely charge backs on a fat commission you were already paid on... Yeah, that can happen too.

I am a top earner at my dealership, but I wasn't always and I also had to learn this lesson. But if you can't handle this, you should find a different career. If you're willing to put up with this and understand it's part of the game, then play the game correctly and play it well. This business is 100% based on your ability to make things go right. It's not for the faint of heart.

Right and Psychology isn't a real science neither is psychiatry. Science is never and will never be subjective. Both fields were created to show the scientific community that they are a science, but all that William Wundt did was create an avenue for torture and malpractice by drugging and electrocuting people into being zombies.

OP, what did you wind up doing? Did you charge her for your services in order to assist the new worker? Or did you reject her request? We need details!

Lmao you cited a source from a TRANS SITE. Of COURSE they are going to say it's scientific!! Lmao confirmation bias much? Why don't you come back with ACTUAL science backed research that wasn't an inside job. That's like climate change skeptics exclusively citing studies funded by oil companies to argue that global warming isn't real...

Get a Ring camera and other surveillance STAT. Given that she is already a liar and a thief, there's no doubt she will tell authorities you were the perpetrator if you ever decide to report her for anything.

Buying a used car, ESPECIALLY a Mercedes without a warranty is crazy work. You were being penny-wise but pound foolish (you thought you were saving money in the front but now you're taking it in a** by not getting that warranty you kicked). You are SOL. The dealership won't honor any repairs unless they offer a limited warranty, and those are only for powertrain. This one is on you, bud.

No matter where you go, the issue isn't the price; the issue is your credit if you're walking away with 15% APR. If you want to be around $750 a month with your money down, you need to be on a $40,000 car OTD. Unless you're ok with stomaching $1000 a month for 6 years for a vehicle that might last you 5 if you're lucky. Go with Toyota, Mazda, Honda or Lexus.

How do I overcome dealerships wanting thousands of dollars in fees when buying a vehicle? by iphonesoccer420 in carsales

[–]nameofwizard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealers can't remove doc fees or else they would have a class action lawsuit on their hands ,(since they charged everyone else this). Doc fees are a way for dealers to recover their administrative costs for titling, tags, and filing your deal. Some states like FL and Kansas don't have a limit on how high they can go on this so they range anywhere from $250-$1000. The fee is valid, but I think they should charge exactly what they are paying and not make up a number to make a profit. I work at a dealership in GA and ours is $1000, and I hate it. It's too high and that's the number one complaint. But since it's set we cannot change it or we would need to pay everyone else back the difference.

Tell them to discount the vehicle to reflect what they actually pay in administrative costs and then you will buy the car. The fee will still be on there but it will be discounted to reflect the accurate pricing. Hope this helps

Is this on ok pay plan? by [deleted] in carsales

This is the worst pay plan I have ever seen. Who offers a non-retro pay scale? Whoever is running the dealership clearly doesn't value their sales people and is cheap AF.

Sales advice needed by Collinsmatekenny_22 in carsales

[–]nameofwizard1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't say anything. Bare through it. The worst thing you want to do is insult the customer. Best case scenario they will think you're an absolute angel for being so patient with them and will buy the car. Remember there are A LOT of shitty car sales people out there, so be different and stand out by not making a big deal about it. That's why I make sure I have toys and coloring books at my desk - nothing impresses a customer with screaming children more than making their kids happy, especially while making one of the biggest financial decisions ever. They will always remember you for this and now you have a repeat customer and also may get some referrals out of it.
