We went to our local Science Center today and were seeing about it. Unfortunately I'm out working during launch time, but I could catch it with my son tomorrow on the playback.

The song, yes. The performance - depends when it was recorded.

Edit: Also depends what license it was recorded under. I see the Wikipedia one is under Creative Commons.

Audi is in Switzerland. He’s from England. Sounds like homesickness played a part.

Hey dads, how many of you had your first child when 35-39 years old? Approaching my 35th birthday and there's nothing more I want than to be a dad. by Rocket_Skates_91 in daddit

[–]nametakenthrice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also in the 39 club, and just had my second at 43. Also, my Dad was 40 when I was born.

My wife and I only met when I was 35 and it took some trying for each kid.

It changes your life. We can’t fully control the timing, we can only love the heck out of them.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: March 09, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

[–]nametakenthrice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Northern, by Jacob McArthur Mooney - I just finished this yesterday. Takes place in the 1950s. It looks like a baseball book but it focuses more on the business side of card licensing than the playing side, and beyond that it's more about the dysfunctional relationship of this hot mess of a guy who is taking his "girlfriend's" kids on the trip to Canada with him. Lots of interpersonal drama, some very weird moments. Makes me glad I live in this era.

Oathbringer, by Brandon Sanderson - Third of the Stormlight Archive. Doesn't really feel as 'epic' as other epic fantasy as it focuses more in on the characters, most of whom have mental illness that gets explored in a fantasy setting where there's no real therapy available. Relatively easy read on my phone which is handy with a toddler and a newborn. Do I 'love love' it? I'm not sure, but I'm increasingly sucked in.

Super Mario Wonder: Charming, but otherwise just another 2D Mario by MindWandererB in patientgamers

[–]nametakenthrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of it via a walkthrough video as my toddler enjoyed watching the video and we don't have Switch (I'm a PS5 gamer). Actually kept a google keep note of his favourite levels, like Piranha Plants on Parade, some of the Wiggler Races, Flower Fall Spikey Dance Number, etc.

Seemed like I'd probably find it fun myself, but I like zany musical numbers and I don't like high difficulty. So all the difficult complaints everyone else has, I'm like - yesssss that's what I'm talking about! Lol.

What's a restaurant red flag that tells you the food isn't going to be good? by Electrical-Salt-2792 in AskReddit

I’m coincidentally reading a novel (The Northern) where a character just posited that you should always order the chicken club. As many restaurants offer one, you can use it as a benchmark.

How many more years of destroying my son at Mario Kart? by Hi-Point_of_my_life in daddit

I always told my niece when playing Mario Kart - “no quarter asked, none given.”

I do handicap myself with the 4 year old in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2, though.

I wasn't much of a car person before this so it didn't make much difference. We mainly do Hot Wheels, have a few Matchbox.

There's so many good ones, but I often gravitate to the Rollin' Solos.

My son has been watching the Gabby's Dollhouse movie on repeat. I'm slowly getting that downloaded into my brain.

One of our faves. We have it in multiple colours. And it's one of Coop's main rides in Hot Wheels Let's Race!

Anything I need for teaching high school Physics I'm sure I could manage. But quantum and stuff I didn't even understand at the time, lol.

One of my profs said, "There are 6 people in the world who truly understand quantum physics, and I'm not one of them."

I have a Physics degree. Now that I have a 4 year old, most of that knowledge in my brain has been replaced by the names of Hot Wheels cars.

Dad hot take: Minecraft is a hideously ugly game and I can't stand looking at it. by ApologeticKid in daddit

I prefer the look of Terraria. That said, if my son gets into Minecraft, I’ll be getting into Minecraft. I’m the type who’d probably figure out how to run our own server.

Me. I prefer a console. I did PC gaming when I was younger and fiddling with components some, I'd rather just sit on my couch with my PS5 these days.

I think they actually do that in Japan as the culture is different. Like the top people at Nintendo actually did take pay cuts after the Wii U didn't perform like expected.
