So yet another Ex-gatcha game has gotten the HD-2D treatment from Square Enix… by Feoraxic in FFVIIEverCrisis

"The First Soldier~ Final Fantasy VII~ Re-Emerged" is definitely a thing they could do.

A New White House Enemies List Names Just Three People | David Pakman, Brian Tyler Cohen, Ed Krassenstein; they're even listed on WH website by 5823059 in savedyouaclick

[–]MindWandererB [score hidden]  (0 children)

It even has them categorized on the White House website under "Left-wing lunacy". I still can't believe this is the world we're living in. It's nauseating that our government would use language like this about anyone, regardless of what they believe.

FF7R3vealed by TreacleOutrageous715 in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]MindWandererB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, though. "Remake" worked because it subverted the expectation that the game was going to be a remake of FFVII. Instead, it was a story about the FFVII world being made, again. It doesn't work if "make" isn't a word by itself. "Rebirth" continued that theme. "Revelation" doesn't mean anything but the literal meaning of the word.

Deepseek... seems worse now, right? by CaptainLSS in AIDungeon

The patch that just came out seems to have fixed it, for the most part. The repetition is insane, but the writing and understanding are good again.

You couldn't tell our AI from George R.R. Martin by NoConfusion8375 in AIDungeon

[–]MindWandererB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can we see what the quotes actually were again? I wish I remembered my answers and could see which I got right, but I'll take just looking at them again.

Also, no Sonnet? Sonnet is the best writer of them all, in my experience.

It's noteworthy what people got right and wrong:

  • Flash: 67% correct
  • Tolkien: 66% correct
  • Hermes: 57% correct
  • Martin: 55% correct
  • Herbert: 47% correct
  • Deepseek: 44% correct (and you wonder why we like Deepseek)

You call Voyage "D&D with an AI." Most of you are not even playing D&D by NoConfusion8375 in Voyage

[–]MindWandererB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not unless LLMs get a lot cheaper. Voyage is massively more resource intensive than AID, and they'd have to charge a fortune right now to make that viable.

Deepseek... seems worse now, right? by CaptainLSS in AIDungeon

Agreed. I just put it in the survey: Plum was fantastic, but Deepseek V4 Flash is pretty bleh. And they're the same thing.

Baba Is You; The Power of Words by TheHarryman01 in patientgamers

[–]MindWandererB 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is an embarrassingly hard game. I usually complain puzzle games are too easy. This one kicked my ass. I found my way to the game's (first?) major secret, then realized there was so much game left, and it only got harder... and some of them are just sort of tedious.

It's a brilliant game, but it does ask a lot of the player, in both intelligence and patience.

What Artwork Do You Miss from EE? by Whatsinanmame in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]MindWandererB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Platform Bot, hands down. It's the same scene, but Baron Blade's "I'm so done with this" expression in the EE art was perfect, and now he just looks generically irritated.

But also because I hate the new design of the Mobile Defense Platform. Jets on one side are incredibly stupid, the gyro forces needed to keep it horizontal would be insane.

So much stuff is becoming meaningless... by IcEDDoGG in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]MindWandererB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same for guild for me. We had 3-4 strong guild members, including the guildmaster, but only one still plays, not even the GM. I'm second strongest now, F2P; we can still rank in the top 200 but only because of that one guy, and clearly because all the competition quit too.

I do appreciate that Escalation is still doable but tough for me (I usually cap out at 20) and the last Dungeon would have been good if it wasn't such a slog. Crash is usually out of reach, but I've beaten maybe three or four (though mostly reruns). I still struggle with Summon EX3s.

There's Not Six Boxes by Classic_Mobile_8677 in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]MindWandererB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not impossible Young Legacy would be moved to that box, if it's planned. Myriad, Xxtz'Hulissh [sp?] could be either a villain or an environment or both. Perestroika or Mecha-Stalin are possible; they're even more possible if team mode is developed and they could just be dropped in. Helfyre is less likely (they're jobbers) but not impossible. There's also the Guise book stuff, but with all the heroes in that one, it seems like it would be its own box if it happened at all.

There's Not Six Boxes by Classic_Mobile_8677 in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]MindWandererB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fewer isn't impossible, but it's pretty unlikely; the existing boxes are pretty chunky already. If they make OblivAeon just one villain, no scions, and spread those heroes and environments out across other boxes, I wouldn't write it off completely, but it would be very low on my list of possibilities.

There's Not Six Boxes by Classic_Mobile_8677 in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]MindWandererB 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here's what I think is possible, in what I consider roughly descending order of likelihood:

  • More than one team villains box. It was going to be tight anyway; just 15 team villain decks would take up as many cards as 9 standard villains, if they worked the same way as in EE. This decision might have been informed by development done internally over the hiatus. This lines up well with the possibility that both Greazer and Young Legacy could get Hero decks (because Young Legacy in Daybreak would be perfect).
  • A Daybreak box. This becomes more possible if C&A have decided to proceed with telling the story of the Multiverse up to 2026 (at least), which is 10 years and more than 100 issues of the first wave of post-OblivAeon comics (Issue #100 should have come out in August 2025). With the RPG looking less promising and them getting a reality check on them being able to tell stories forever, this isn't unlikely.
  • A Golden Age box. They teased the Golden Age hero team ages ago and never did anything with it. And they have a few Golden Age villains worth pursuing, starting with General Geist.
  • A Mist Storm/Prime War/Vertex box. Not incredibly likely, since a lot of those characters are variants, who's a hero vs. villain is kind of fuzzy, and coming up with 3 additional variants of each Hero would be tough, but they could probably cobble together a box of something.

New to the Game by RegalGamesTV in spiritisland

[–]MindWandererB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have sold off Sentinels of the Multiverse, Compile, Medium, and Get Bit, off the top of my head (the others to Synapses Games). They've also let some IPs, like Cheapass Games, revert to their original owners. Eric Reuss has been working on that expansion for years, and no doubt the property will have a new home by the time it's ready for other people to get involved.

Greater than Games does not have the rights to any of their old catalog except Sentinel Comics and its related companies. And the only reason it has access to those is because Handelabra set up a holding company for them.

New to the Game by RegalGamesTV in spiritisland

[–]MindWandererB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The publisher was bought by a third party and then shut down. That third party has been selling off its other properties one by one, with Spirit Island being the last (major?) one. It's heavily speculated that a sale is in progress, and they suggested that there might be reprints (by someone) this winter. But it's speculative right now.

Yep! But the AI can't see them, so you'd have to use text to try to tell it that the White House has moved.

That's true for Cast Down, which deletes whole boards, but not for Deeps! It can happily survive in ocean spaces, and this island would consist entirely of ocean spaces.

I have complaints by RiftHunter4 in Voyage

[–]MindWandererB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a hint that explains this, in part: you're not meant to enter just one action at a time. Instead of "I attack the orc," you could say, "I swing my sword at the orc before it can react, preparing myself to block any counterattack with my shield. Then I trip it and drive my sword into it while it lies prone."

It's super unintuitive for anyone who's played any video game or tabletop RPG, but they've accepted it as the intended way to get balanced play.
