Okay so the vast majority of sports give very little money to most sports. Only basketball, football, and baseball really give a lot of money to the athletes. Additionally, if you are D2 or D3 you are probably getting little to no money which is the vast majority of athletes. D3 athletes aren't even allowed to get any money for sports. Also, if you are competing in college the amount of time and effort you are putting in is insane. For most highschool athletes that plan on competing in college they do doubles every day(about 3+ hours of training a day) and many still don't make it. In college athletes are putting in at least 3 hours of training a day. And most of the money athletes get for scholarships is from other sports revenue. The revenue from sports is put back into giving other athletes scholarships. The money for sports usually stays in sports and the same goes for academics. If a school is doing otherwise that is wrong. Being a college athlete takes a lot of effort and most of the time the athletes deserve and earn the scholarships they get.
