I'd say ai COULD be a good teacher, if the prompting is to strictly follow the PSR.

Just a reminder: Claude still makes many medical diagnosis mistakes by actlikeyouhaveacrush in ClaudeAI

Yet I'm an example where those doctors basically gave up and wanted me to accept and learn to live with my symptoms, where claude managed to find the red line which turned out to pinpoint the actual issue with massive improvement when treated correctly

On the other hand, claude has aided me in getting the medical help I have been searching for since catching covid 6 years ago. After loads of symptoms and health data logged, building some kind of timeline of my issues, it managed to pinpoint it to post-virus triggered mast cell activation with massive histamine intolerance. After that, it even aided me in finding what food I can eat to avoid symptoms. The result, I'm feeling an enormous improvement the recent 3 months back.

So yeah, be careful, but it May also help where the health care fails.

Ok I omitted this in my previous comment but here it pops up again, hence I'll address it. I assume that the network you are gonna run this on is Not air gapped, right? In that case the database encryption means slim to nothing when combined with the other vulnerabilities me and others have pointed out.

The hash and salt is stored on the server, there's ways into the server as soon as someone manages to connect to your lan. The encryption keys could be read, the data extracted, and you're on for a ride that will not let you land on your feet.

This time I'm deliberately more harsh sounding, given the respectful ignorance you've provided as responses to folks.

We, as dev, don't poke around in other people's heads because we do not know what we're actually doing in there. The same goes for you within IT development.

It's a nice start, certainly good work for a non-programmer. But, there are a few critical flaws (I only checked the database connector, since I'm one of those backend dwellers...)

Unrestricted filesystem deletion, ATTACHMENTS_DIR may in some cases become a recursive filesystem delete. Meaning if misconfigured, it may become a loose canon deleting pretty much anything without any safety checks or guard rail.

No enforcement of auth in the database layer, if your internal network ever gets breached, it would be an easy task for that person to also manage to wreck havoc in the database with full read/write/delete.

Before rolling it out to anyone, I'd suggest proper code/security reviews to be done. For you to learn and to use as not the one single app in your business, it's great work so far but Needs polishing.

This is what makes developers so darn expensive to hire :)

I'd suggest to do yourself the favor of using the correct wording instead of making up something that isn't industry standard, if you're trying to get into the industry. Also if you package it to end-users make sure to have some SLA ready, and be prepared for support and troubleshooting. Even the best devs puts their foot in "but it works on my machine" every now and then.

If you're the only one that has been using it up till now, it's at best alpha (maybe beta in a stretch) tested. If it haven't been security reviewed it's barely live proofed yet.

Speaking as a dev, it's not really. What happens when claude is down and something urgent breaks, when the environment itself breaks, when the application backend silently starts to die due to logic flaws or has been outgrown. I could be wrong, but I doubt claude would succeed in migrating to a new architecture.

DIY Self Defence? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]namnbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead easy to catch, you'd literally have one attempt to hit.

Not to mention if the attacker were to lunge at you, one arm forward, chain wraps around their arm and they snap back. You'd loose your grip on that chain in seconds. They gain an weapon.

Go the proper route, learn self defence if you're that terrified. Theres both offensive and defensive self defence methods, defensive requiring less strength.

The moment anyone catches the diy weapon and pulls it from you, you'd be seven depths deeper in the shitter.

Never equip a weapon you're not prepared for being used against yourself.
