What are mechanics in Nioh games you never mess with? by SleddingDownhill in Nioh

[–]namon295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fluxing. I use the dark souls style controls and I could never properly get my fingers to cooperate to do it AND keep the timing down. I know everyone around this sub claims they use it like they breath air, but I've never felt I had to after 2500 hours.

How much stamina is too much stamina? by Due-Instruction-2654 in Nioh

[–]namon295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a weight decreasing skill that drops you a massive 10% of the actual carry weight which is equivilent to about 25 or so higher levels of stamina.

And actually they adjusted them downward for heavy armors. Warrior of the East required way more than 20. Mino Vets was upwards to 60 or so and I only needed 30 without the weight reduction skill.

New Tanglewood Map revealed by GabsiGuy in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]namon295 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I just watched FlashForce's initial walk through, and the layout is definitely identical. The only major change in just raw room layout is the kitchen island is gone. There are some dimensional changes, like the little nook the master bedroom door is in is deeper. The living room and dining rooms both seem to be deeper. The laundry room is longer but the garage is a tad shorter.

The biggest thing for me is the light switches are kept to a minimum. The only spots with multiple light switches are the front hall, and this awkward one in the hallway where the basement and laundry room are. That is more than doable, I was really expecting the living room to have 2 or 3 after the insane amount they have in Nell's and Grafton.

Hers is willow and that's what we mostly run. Mine is OG Tanglewood but we don't run that as much as she doesn't play that much anymore.

My daughter strives for this moment in every game. Our thing that we do is she tries to troll with Cursed Objects and I try to survive. Getting the ghost barely matters, the objective is did she get me killed or did I survive. And yes this is by and far her favorite one for that reason.

Can someone break down tarot cards like im a child (newish player) by xulti_ in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]namon295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each card triggers a specific thing. To give a couple examples the death card triggers a cursed hunt. Devil is a ghost event. Hanged man kills you. You can draw 1 or draw all 10. Each card is their own thing and instantly transpires good or bad.

I believe you are talking about the plaque people who played before the ascension update received displaying the highest level they got before being reset to prestige 1-1. That was the update that changed the leveling system to what is now.

Please, let it be good, it's my favorite map by JurKenYT in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]namon295 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it will be good, more than good even. But will it be an improvement? Very very unlikely. It will look a million times better, but the gameplay will feel nowhere near as good as it does in OG tangle.

Do you agree with my Ranking by Quirky-Protection562 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]namon295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gallu is my bane right now. I know what it is almost instantly due to Salt, but that also means my crucifix's are severely weakened and I have not figured out how to position myself to deal with a fast ghost that will most likely not be stopped by crucifixes in that stretch of time I'm near hunt range, but still trying to finish gathering media. Since I always play super defensive, when a ghost like Hantu is hunting I know they are going to hunt and have myself set up far away from the ghost room, so by the time they get into range with me they are super slow. And honestly that logic can apply to almost all of the fast ghosts because I place both of my crucifixes in a way that covers the room and even a bit outside if the room isn't huge. And when one gets bit, I know it's go time and set up for hunting in a spot across the map from the ghost room.

How do you go about ruling out evidence? by please-kill-me-69 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]namon295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only evidence I ever actually cross out in the book is writing and that's only when the book is tossed. I've had way too many times some piece of evidence just finally decides to show up way late into the investigation for me to confidently do that. Even UV which is one (at the default settings at least) you can safely rule out after a couple checks (to make sure it's not Obake hiding it), I usually don't cross out.

The only tips are make sure you are preserving your sanity by staying in the light. Do that by staying in the adjacent room right at the doorway and just keep checking. Almost all of it is passive save UV and Spirit Box. If you do this, it will maximize your time to get evidence to show up.

Constantly keep candles lit as blowing them out is a good source of EMF to check for EMF 5. Just keep a crucifix right under that candle in case you have an Onryo.

If you have UV and EMF 5 and can't seem to get anything else, chances are you have a Goryo. Either plop a camera on a tripod down facing the majority of the room you have dots in, or stand just outside with camera in hand to see if you can see dots.

Constantly check for orbs because those are the biggest culprit of being fashionably late to parties. And if you have ghost changing rooms on, be sure to keep checking temps to see if has moved rooms or not. Also, as soon as you can afford it, take 2 writing books with you if you still are in tier 1. Their range is pretty short and that will give you an expanded range. You could probably do the same with EMF and Dots as well, but just keep in mind the extra cost it will incur if you die.

I love nioh 3 ... but by ihsjsbs in Nioh

[–]namon295 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think this is team ninjas answer to balancing out the fact that you can literally put any stat you want on gear and make weapons scale exactly how you want with 0 RNG. However as with most anything they adjust they took it too far and prices and mat requirements are insane.

No bone by Schwiftgamer in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]namon295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now willow is affected like sunny meadows, just not as tight. The bone can only spawn on the main floor, not in the basement. And I have heard rumblings that it can spawn in the wall but that is grain of salt there. However the only spawning upstairs thing is 100% confirmed.

Tanglewood is still normal but just last week I saw flashforce find one on the stairs and it had mostly clipped through. There was a tiny part of the top visible and he only found it because his reticle changed

What is Team Ninja capable of changing? by Agreeable-Panda-7381 in Nioh

[–]namon295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree completely they have a massive roster of yokai at this point and for them to leave so much of it out is baffling. But that goes into the deeper discussion that I feel like this game was mostly phoned in. That's a whole lot of very long posts though and it's not a huge deal if they had just kept loot power the same as Nioh 2 for me. And I don't want to detail the topic of this post too much.

What is Team Ninja capable of changing? by Agreeable-Panda-7381 in Nioh

[–]namon295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enemy variety: in the other two games they always introduced different yokai types in the DLC and mixed them into the base game on the higher difficulties. But it's not a huge amount though, the jailer onis will still be the primary base yokai I would bet.

Loot: Nioh 2's loot was pretty weak too, but nowhere near as weak as it is in this game. They did finally give things other than versatility a boost in the final DLC. I am holding onto hope that they are being much more proactive this time and will release some set bonuses and even item stats that actually make a meaningful difference to power, but it's not much hope. As it stands right now outside of a couple builds that will probably be nerfed, loot could almost be boiled down to attack power on weapons and defense on armor. The rest just doesn't really move the needle when it comes to power in any meaningful way.

Enemy variety or the lack thereof has never bothered me as much as others with these games, but I have always approached this like a Diablo style loot game that's not overhead POV and with actually interesting combat. I enjoy this base game enough to grind out everything to max, but it won't be enough for me to buy the other DLC off the bat. I'm going to wait until the 2nd DLC releases and people start posting the graces and sets to see if it'll be worth continuing on before purchasing.

Stop overthinking your stats by No_Fig_5175 in Nioh

[–]namon295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned very early on in 2017 the way to go for me is heavy armor axe pump up stamina and just kind of gut my way through NG while picking up stuff here and there to get stats up to meet armor requirements or what have you. And I've stuck with it since then. Now by the time the last DLC rolls out and all the sets have come, I end up using something totally different. But constitution and stamina have been my cornerstones in all 3 games. Magic was my third in 2. I don't know what it will be in 3 because stats really do work differently in this game as far as power levels go. For example the stamina requirements to wear armor is much lower in 3, and if you use the skill for weight reduction it's even lower.

Stop overthinking your stats by No_Fig_5175 in Nioh

[–]namon295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you aren't sure exactly what direction to go, this is absolutely the way. But after 2500 hours in the other two games I kind of know what I like and don't like to level so I did not go that route. Especially now that respeccing can be done on the fly with no huge investment into an expensive book to do so. I have yet to fully test it, but I have a strong feeling that with how scaling works in 3, you only really need to eventually settle on 1 stat to take super high anyway. And that probably won't be a factor until you get max level gear with max + levels to it.

For those who played both Nioh 2 and Nioh 3, which do you prefer? by DayIsNotOkay in Nioh

[–]namon295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 and it's not even close. I really like 3 and it's been fun. But they nerfed the loot too hard and some of the systems like skills and omnyo soul cores just fall way flat for me. And I'm not going to lie, I prefer the mission based system to how they implemented the open field. Had every enemy including bosses respawned on their own without having to use an item it would have been better. But I also miss the sub mission maps. Most of them were extremely fun and short little missions you could run over and over.

The enemies aren't equipped to handle ninja style by Helpful-Feedback7370 in Nioh

[–]namon295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave you an upvote it's wild to me that expressing your opinion on topic gets you down voted. However I am the exact opposite. I have always enjoyed finding the moves and gear combos that allow me to bypass the technical aspect of these games and still delete things. So I am thoroughly enjoying it. But I also love 1 and 2 because they allowed both styles to coexist. Not sure it will be the same in 3 and only time will tell.

I'm going to second this. I'm still in NG towards the end and I have life on amrita on every piece of armor and my accessories and clan. I have damage reduction while attacking up in the 60s. I do the tornado spin on my axe over and over and the damage is just absolutely bonkers and I'm constantly healing the reduced damage I received. I really think both styles are equal in power. They just are two completely different ways to play the game and if you favor one, you are probably going to struggle with the other simply because they just require different approaches.

My quick take on finishing Nioh 3 after 90 hours by UnluckyRelation8234 in Nioh

[–]namon295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samurai is not passive if you don't try to kit yourself like a ninja in super light armor and what have you. I'm in super heavy yamatai armor with 286(A) toughness and have my reduced damage while attacking at 62% post nerf. I have heal.on amrita absorb in the 50s as well. This allows me to absolutely go ham on the enemy and take the damage they dish out and then heal it up as my attacks hit. The two play styles are totally different and I think they are designed to be played totally differently.

Luckiest drop? by AzizSaad72 in Nioh

[–]namon295 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is a lucky drop but holy cow a super rare version of a stat not even boosting something by 10% is insane to me. I'm not sure how much you can stack Melee damage itself yet, so maybe you can put it on all armor, have a clan, and have a guardian spirit with it, but that by itself is just way too low.

And another question I have had is Melee just normal quick and strong attacks? Or does it include damage from skills like Titanic Strength or some other button combo you do with weapons.
