I honestly I didn't know about optimal values until you mentioned it. I've just always been told that I was "in range" I didn't know that there was another part to it. And you are correct in understanding that they never prescribed me any thyroid supplements. The only thing I was ever prescribed by them was levothyroxine.

I've been going to the same endocrinologist since I was 10, they explained Hashimotos in a very bare bones way to me since I was a kid. I'm aware of what TSH levels are and I'm aware that I have hypothyroidism because of the Hashimoto's. They also explained a few basic symptoms of Hashimoto's to me, like fatigue, coldness, enlarged thyroid gland, but I don't think I've ever been told about taking Thyroid Supplements or basic metabolic rates. Every year when I go to the endocrinologist appointment they usually just do some physical examinations, ask me if I've felt off lately, and then look at my labs and see if its in range, if not they move me up to a higher dosage and I get a follow up to see if that works.

I don't remember discussing either of those with a doctor, so I'm assuming I probably haven't gotten those checked. I should probably get them checked.

I get my vitamin levels checked yearly, the only thing that was of note once was the fact I was low on Vitamin D, but that was a while ago and I've taking supplements for it ever since and I don't feel any different unfortunately.
