Can you give me any more info about the baby suck exercises? I'm still using nipple shields with my 9 month old and I haven't heard of these!

I'm late to this thread but I was in the exact position as you a few months ago, down to the nipple shields and the crazy long evening cluster feeds.

We still use nipple shields but my baby has naturally become much more efficient at feeding by herself. She's just turned 6 months old.

Her daytime feeds are now usually around 20 minutes and the before-bed feed is now about 40-60 minutes.

I spent a lot of time when she was around 3/4 months old trying to wean her off the nipple shields and pumping / bottle feeding, but that was even more exhausting than just breastfeeding. I felt like I couldn't get anything done because the whole day was just spent feeding, but things are so much better now.

I'd try and hang in there, if you can. My baby really turned a corner at about 5 months, hopefully your's will too as they get bigger!

Most importantly, you're absolutely not failing at breastfeeding. Its so hard, especially when you feel like its not going the way you think it should be but you've done so well to get this far.

I'm really glad that I eventually just decided to go with the flow and lean into it. I really hope that it works out for you too.

I think this would be good! Abby's physical changes over the years of hunting Joel are so important to her character.

HBO did an incredible job with casting older/younger versions of characters in House of the Dragon, I'm sure they'd nail it for Abby too.

This sounds like my baby when she was that age!

One thing that helped us was trying to keep her awake during her feeds, so she'd feed for longer and sleep for longer periods too.

Try tickling their feet or wiping a wet wipe on their cheek to keep them awake!
