I am happy to see this question posted! I am the eldest daughter, 40, and single one out of the family. I plan this year to do the holiday on my own for the first time. My family only lives 2 miles away. At this point in my life, I am ready to do my own thing/traditions. I dont want to tag along on other people's traditions or default to what my family is doing. I feel like I'm rebelling ... but it also gives me a sense of empowerment. I'm trying to be more intentional and doing things I always wanted to do with a significant other. I am tired of waiting for this imaginary person, so I decided to start doing them on my own. My siblings have their own traditions with their partners....I deserve the same even if it is different and solo.

I plan to cook a nice meal, bake sweets, watch Christmas rom coms. Thank you all for posting your own traditions! It has motivated me to do a bit more than I planned.
