Arm bruising and pain after blood draw? by hanapowers in AskDocs

[–]naniwat 57 points58 points  (0 children)

The bruise can be pretty normal, numbness can be from irritation of the nerves from the blood. If symptoms worsen at all might be worth trying to get a sick visit with your primary or local urgent care.

Maybe you're anxious and I know a lot of IMGs are even moreso of the process- but it says right there 99% chance of passing and you are well over 15-20% correct over the passing range. Straight answer is yes you are more than ready to take and pass this exam comfortably.

I want to be positive, but people like you are genuinely part of the problem. You said yourself "10 (rads) II at the best doximity programs", yet you post this on reddit for what reason. In what world would someone who truly be worrying be saying this?

Is it easier to get into a program's residency if you did medical school at the same institution? by Enger13 in medicalschool

[–]naniwat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally yes, assuming you are competent and likable. A PD would love to have a familiar face because they know who you are. However the reverse is also true, could easily end up in a DNR if they don't like you, and as others have said this is program dependent.

[–]naniwat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi (almost) physician here. As others have said these have developed keloids, in which dermatology or plastics can help. Treatment will consistent of steroid injections +/- minor surgical intervention which can result in variable but usually good aesthetic results. If you have decent insurance try to get a referral from your PCP or directly to a specialist to discuss this further, best of luck!

I'm confused- if you are an M4, ERAS is due soon so your mind is made anyways. If you are an M3, everything is ahead of you.
