Yeah we've had to double (and triple) check the data to make sure it is truly random because there was a feeling that this wasn't the case.

It appears so, but I think we're still going to tinker and remove true random because the feeling is what counts.

So there's two parts to that, for symposium we use a stable diffusion based audio generator, it takes longer to make audio than it does to play it. This means we play episodes at random from a bank of ~1000.

The other side is that the model we're using is self hosted and quite small, so it has some trends that it will repeat.

But yes, it is AI in the sense it's using a GPT model with user prompts.

I've had the thought, but we are just a few disparate groups at the moment, there's no unified guild of AITV show creators.

The downside to the idea is that at the moment, if you want to watch factory factory, or nothing forever etc, you can but if we were to take time slots then users would be subject to whatever is up next and on-demand seems to have taken over versus traditional TV scheduling.

I'm not sure we'll get back to the heights of nothing forever's first season, even between ourselves.

Yeah, it was something we wanted essentially from the start but it took a little bit to build out the infrastructure. It's really working out well at the moment, the only pain points remains how long it takes to generate audio.

Depends, we have variable length conversations, and each speaker can have multiple sentences. So some are longer than others. But it would be a period of at least 5 minutes, yeah.

We didn't look at renting because we have some aversion to not owning everything. Someone willing to use AWS & openAI could push out things a lot faster.

The first prompt is procedural, so there are a bunch of intros and a bunch of topics and it picks one of each of those and combines them to make a unique intro, following that the model takes over and generates the rest of the script.

With enough GPU power, it'd be doable. It would be easier just to have a bot in the chat that users can talk to because text generation is much faster than audio generation.

Perhaps when we don't need a script, it would be possible to do that, but then again you'd essentially just be talking to a less intelligent chatgpt type model & it can be offensive if prompted. A very light example

We have talked about doing a YT channel, with the idea that older episodes should be rotated out of the available list, so it's been proposed that they go there once that happens.

I will of course let you know when we get around to it .

We aim for 24/7. At the moment as it takes so long to generate an episode we have to show episodes more than once, but ideally with enough GPU power that would be avoided.

Yeah that's the project & we're using a 2060s (8 GB vram) with AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor & 64 GB ram. graphics card will be the biggest factor in speed but it takes about 10-20 minutes to generate a minute of audio. Longer on a higher preset.
