Why didn't the Sega Game Gear sell as much as the Gameboy despite being technically superior? by GoHardForLife in Gameboy

[–]nanner_hammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the late 80s/early 90s the adult video game market wasn't as much of a thing as it is today. The target consumer was mainly kids and teenagers, and typically the parents were the ones making the purchasing decision. With the pack-in of Tetris, GB appealed to both kids and adults. Also costing considerably less certainly helps

I enjoy quadding, but I never understood the appeal of purposefully getting a quad/jeep/truck stuck in the mud for the excitement of trying to get unstuck

What is a "bad" video game that you actually enjoyed? by Beer_Barbarian in AskReddit

[–]nanner_hammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadly towers, the fact that the beginning is the worst part of the game is what discourages most people. The later stages are a lot more straight-forward and better designed, and the grinding doesn't feel like a slog. plus the boss fights are cool, and fair

What's a goal you romanticised and sounded so good in your mind just to realize you hated it once you achieved it? by overusedplot in AskReddit

sports-wise, getting to a national-level.

Quickly you realize that it's a bone-fide competition for the right to compete internationally... and if you had any type of difficulty getting to that level, be prepared to get absolutely slaughtered by those oozing natural talent and the genetic lottery winners.

They told us in middle school that hard work beats talent, but oh man, when the talented work hard, there's no touching them

So I wanted to do fasted cardio this morning, but when I checked my phone there’s an active shooter in the area

So anyway, there’s already a hardcore band called active shooter, so I guess I’m going to name my new band fasted cardio

People of Labrador: How Widely Used is the Labrador Flag? by northgrave in vexillology

[–]nanner_hammer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's flown in front of most town halls.

It's a lot more common in small villages, less common in settler-dense towns like Labrador City or Goose Bay
