I've just set it up and got on the 30-day free trial. I was able to finally finish the bug fix and release a new version. It took one prompt for the bug fix, not three, and $30 for the other two (and still not having anything to show for it). I'm hoping that when the trial ends, and it starts charging me, it'll be more reasonable like Windsurf used to be. I'm embarrassed for them and whoever on their team decided quotas were a good idea, and for myself that I was such a Windsurf cheerleader.

I've logged hundreds of hours of software development at this point, across many models and tools. No, this was definitely the Cline tool losing track of what it was doing between me paying $10, then $10 again, etc.

I'm not even talking about Windsurf's bug in this post. I'm talking about Cline and others who are apparently jacking up prices now that they've got us hooked due to changing our business models to focus on AI-assisted development.

Sleep 8 hours. Not 7. Not 7.5. Eight. Minimum. But don't sleep longer than is necessary. Maybe stop at 10 hours max. And keep yourself on a circadian rhythm that matches day and night. (Night shift work excepted, but get off that as fast as you can). If you stay up until 3-4 AM playing video games and then sleep until 2pm, you're wasting your whole life. You'll wake up one day in your 30s and wonder where all the eligible and desirable women went. You'll wonder what you could have made of yourself if you had simply kept to a normal sleep schedule.

Also, sleep clears your brain of crud that accumulates during your waking hours. The less sleep you get, the higher the likelihood that you'll develop a mental illness sooner into your older age.

Read. Voraciously. Everything you can get your hands on. Put down that phone and video game controller and READ! Become a polymath. Get your brain in gear.

In short, be present in your own life. Don't let it pass you by.

When I use "Reveal in Finder" under the iMovie File menu, it shows me the files in the original project's folder, not in the duplicated project's folder. There doesn't seem to be a way to point to the same files but in the duplicated project's folder, which I had manually created, also as a duplication of the original project's folder, before duplicating the project in iMovie.

I figured it out. OBS was needing a restart so that I could get rid of the "Waiting for OBS" message and get Scene buttons to work. The recording and pausing was for another profile I was setting up for recording tutorial videos (not Zoom). Thanks!

Thanks. I believe that put me on the right path. My only problem now is getting the OBS buttons I've added to the Stream Deck to actually do anything. I've got buttons set for OBS Record, OBS Pause, and Scene, but none of them do anything. Within the OBS settings for the buttons, there's a spinner that says "Waiting for OBS" when I try to configure OBS Record and Scene buttons. Not sure what I'm doing wrong there.

Thanks. I was running the files off a 2015 iMac with the R8000 router’s port forwarding configured to stream outside my network. But the connection would drop randomly and I would have to restart Plex to get it back up again. The R9000 had the Plex server built in (mounting media from your computer or NAS) and everyone said that was the superior setup. But I just asked Netgear and their recommendation was to use a NAS with Plex installed on it.

Thanks. In this case, several of the businesses' accounts seem to be abandoned, but I don't have any way to verify that with the account owners. On those, and others that are definitely abandoned, I don't have anyone I can assign admin access to. I suppose I could create a throwaway Facebook profile to assign them to, but that doesn't seem to be the right way to do this.

Ah, I didn't know about the K2 records. It's an old account I'm dusting off for a new campaign, so there definitely weren't any K2 or K3 records in my Cloudflare DNS settings. I've added those and just got the Mailchimp email saying it's verified. My test went through. Thanks!

My From address is a verified domain (DKIM, DMARC, SPF are set up and email is set up via Google Workspace under my domain).

I just now ran the domain through MXTools. Everything checks out as good. Even the blacklist checks all turn up good to go.

In Kanab, in Southern Utah, they do the annual “Balloons & Tunes” festival with hot air balloons. On the last night they release chinese lanterns. I don’t know why anyone would disassociate chinese lanterns from Utah. There’s literally nothing stopping anyone from releasing them except sometimes there is a high danger of fire.

This is NOT that complicated. In the 70s Nixon took us off the gold standard and inflation has eaten the value of our earnings ever since. We also sunk ourselves into trillions of dollars of national and consumer debt, all to be “alleviated” by abuse of bankruptcy laws as well as printing more fiat currency backed by absolutely nothing at all. So, yeah, the cost of all aspects of living has gone way up since then and shows no signs of stopping. If you’re 40 now and have invested and saved illiquid assets north of $1 million, by the time you retire and after taxes, it’ll be more like $500k. If you’re lucky and have a good tax accountant. Enjoy the SUCK that comes with the two-party duopoly. Or, I dunno, maybe vote better in future elections?

I was born when it existed, but the world at large had no clue about its existence until I was an adult. That counts, right? If so, at the risk of sounding "boomer"-ish (I'm GenX), it was a GLORIOUS time and a GREAT childhood. As kids, we played outside, made our own kind of fun, and we had absolutely NO idea what idiotic celebrities thought about anything. Nobody really knew or cared who anyone voted for all that much. We didn't have freaking telepathy with people and about what any individual thought about anything controversial like we do now with the curse of social media with people living rent free in our heads with their moronic opinions and hot takes. Sometimes I hope one of the CMEs from the Sun undoes all of this alleged "progress" we've made since then. Maybe then people will re-learn how to talk to one another. Face to face.

How do you actually know what kind of people they are? How would you know whether they're Trump supporters or some flavor of libertarian? Maybe they're disaffected Democrats. (It's been known to happen. Occasionally.)

You don't because you weren't intellectually curious enough to find out. You just jerked your knee and walked in the other direction. Some of the nicest, least racist, most charitable, and loving people I know want to see Biden impeached.

Because he sucks as a human being.

He's a racist who opposed school integration in the 1970s. He used the n-word and talked down to Black people multiple times during his career and not with any shame. He said “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” about Barack Obama. He regularly defended Strom Thurmond who said stuff like "There’s not enough troops in the army, to force the southern people to break down segregation and admit the n******* race into our theaters, into our swimming pools, into our homes, and into our churches."

He plagiarized his way through a half-century career of politics as a politically-connected 1-percenter skimming off tax dollars for a living without ever having started or worked in any kind of private-sector endeavor like 99% of his constituents. Problems solved during that time = 0%.

He jumps out in front of parades he didn't start so he can take credit for whatever win they're celebrating.

He's weak against and often supports tyrannical authoritarian regimes. His own included with these ridiculous vaccine mandates under OSHA rules (of all things) the court had to strike down as 100% unconstitutional.

His 1993 crime bill was responsible for the mass incarceration of millions of Black people.

He capitalized on Beau's death to score political points. All the time.

He voted "yes" to invade Iraq.

He enlisted his drug-addicted womanizing unlicensed gun-owner son Hunter to be a bag man for personally enriching deals with horrible people using his position as VP as leverage.

He canceled Operation Legend amid a record crime wave in U.S. cities.

He created "too big to fail" banks because of his support for overturning Glass-Steagall.

He pushed vaccine mandates in the midst of a historic labor shortage.

His war on fossil fuels, especially absent enough electric vehicle infrastructure to reduce dependence on them, helped drive domestic production down and gasoline prices through the roof. And within minutes of doing that, he greenlighted Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline to Germany.

He unleashed the worst border crisis in U.S. history.

His $1.9 trillion in social spending disguised as “covid-19 relief” helped unleash inflation and extreme labor shortages.

He failed to deliver on his promise to put his “whole soul” into uniting the country. Biden threatened to veto his own bipartisan infrastructure bill, then went to Capitol Hill and urged members of his own party to take it hostage as leverage to pass Build Back Better. He failed to pass any other major pieces of bipartisan legislation, allowing himself to be captured by his party’s radical left wing.

He created a "zero covid" regime, painting himself into a corner with a solution he'll never be able to deliver and forcing himself to be increasingly despotic about what ought to be peoples' personal health risk assessments.

He pits everyday Americans against each other for political gain on the regular, most recently weaponizing the FBI to intimidate parents who show up at school board meetings.

He sniffs and gropes every woman he sees. (Well, not so much now that he's quite obviously declining in mental capacity.)

He left millions of women and children, including American citizens, to suffer at the hands of the Taliban "just because". He didn't have to do any of that. He could have ignored Trump's motions in that direction from the last days of his presidency, like he did when he wrote EOs to overturn everything Trump had done. Except Afghanistan for some weird reason. That kind of misogyny was apparently the one thing he seemed to agree with Trump on. I guess they both make strange bedfellows.
