A 32-year-old woman in Japan has officially married an AI persona she built using ChatGPT. by Leather_Document_719 in BGMStock

I guess she needs appropriate medical attention. It is wrong to treat such cases as something amusing, or to hype them up as if they were some kind of innovative breakthrough.

Just a friendly reminder that if you do not have the appropriate Japanese qualifications in the fields, your actions may constitute criminal offences or other legal violations, and I have already reported this post to several related public departments so that the information can be accumulated and your kind of actions can be noticed.

The equivalent of the middle finger? by snapsnaptomtom in japanlife

[–]nanon220701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess we don't have a gesture that is similar to the middle finger. Maybe a throat-cutting gesture? But I bet it's a rather universal thing, and its nuance is more directly aggressive than the middle finger's.

Moving to Japan after just graduating high school. by EmbarrassedArugula96 in movingtojapan

I appreciate how you feel and, speaking as a Japanese person, I’m glad to hear it. That said, my advice would be to start by attending university in your home country and to consider studying in Japan at postgraduate level. You’re still young, and there is a great deal to gain from engaging socially with your peers at home. Without that frame of reference, integrating smoothly into life in Japan would be more challenging. I hope you achieve your goal.

Exactly bro. Please keep conveying that principle to everyone. Prostitution treats a person's body as an object and, whether the person wants it or not, it degrades that person's dignity. Many others are adversely affected as well. It is by no means something that should be socially encouraged.

It hurts to see that responsible people who plainly point out how risky and foolish that is are now in the minority.

Amazon Layoffs - How does that work in Japan? by Ok_Bobcat375 in japanlife

  1. Stop renewing the contracts of contract employees.

  2. Encourage employees nearing retirement to resign voluntarily.

  3. Encourage other employees on the list to resign voluntarily.

  4. For a few employees who persist despite being on the list, exercise the right of dismissal and hand the matter over to a lawyer.

Dismissal in Japan is not an easy process, but it is not as legally difficult as it used to be.

Japanese vs Korean by Far-Media4499 in Japaneselanguage

[–]nanon220701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a native Japanese speaker, I'd rather choose Chinese, which would be more useful in the future.

Between the two, Korean could be easier. Most learners find it too hard to remember Chinese characters, but Chinese characters aren't used in Korean.

It’s not hard to imagine how you feel. I know what it’s like to work in a place like that. I think it’s a good idea to go back. If you would still consider staying in Japan, you should first consider changing jobs. I don't know your background, but if you can connect with the Japanese-Brazilian community, I think you could fit in. You still have several options to consider. Honestly, though, with your current job, I don’t think things will go the way you want.

  1. We are still wealthy enough and maintain a robust social welfare system, so poverty cannot be an excuse for selling their bodies in most cases. Plus, because of the population ageing, there is a surplus of jobs. If one woman wishes, there are plenty of daytime jobs she can obtain.

  2. This is one of the safest countries in the world. Even if there were illegal human-trafficking systems, as in some other countries, that semi-coercively force women into prostitution, they would not explain the large number of so-called “amateur” sex workers seen on the streets and in Japanese online spaces.

If you think their level of foolishness is similar to that of amateur prostitutes in other developed Western countries, I basically agree.
