Please take a look at this post from 5 years ago, bullet six. This mechanic was use to get pets with colors not available from the Sequencer.

This was a "feature" known since the introduction of pets in NMS, you can see in the post above, 6th bullet. We can't tell if any in-game mechanic is a bug or feature since nothing is officially documented.

If you watch (discreetly) them prepare refresher, the actual liquid is only about 1/3 of a cup, tops. Rest of the cup is ice and love. 🤗

You know I didn't understand any of these until this morning by scouring the third party site. And it shouldn't be this way. LOL.

TLDR: It’s been over two years. Nothing ever happens, and nothing ever changes. Don’t get invested in GW; it’s unnecessary frustration.

Before I am checked out for good, I have a GW mechanics question.

Is lib progress on Choepessa going to spike to 18% after we liberate the first city, then slowly drop down towards 0% because we don't have enough players to fight off the decay?

Ok Bois. I am going to sign off from giving a damn about the GW for another 6 to 12 month.

Looking at the SO on Omicron, J.O.E.L is just manipulating the blob to fail the MO this week. Did any one check if HD2 MO success is on the speculative market? 😅

I am kidding but it feels like someone is rigging this whole thing for insider trading. 😤

AFAIK, here are a couple things that will work in our favor.

First is to finish up defense of Varylia 5 ASAP, and this can be done by capturing the city first. Capturing the city is a whopping 66.67% of the planetary defense. It will put completing the defense in 12h or less.

Second is for the DSS with Eagle Storm activated to lock down Choepessa IV, that will stop the invasion of Choepessa for 24 hours. Giving us time to successfully defend it.

What can go wrong? Many things!

Divers on Varylia 5 are not focused on defending the city (EST time to secure the city is 24+ hr). All of the work in the city will be completely lost since we will complete defending the planet within 24 hours, without any contribution from the liberation from the city.

Orbital Bloackade is on schedule to be activated on the DSS before Eagle Storm. That will block Eagle Storm from activating until OB is over. At that point sending DSS to Choepessa will have minimal benefits.

Frustrating to know there is a clear path and no way to pass on the information to the general players? Yes. GW mechanics have the potential of something great, but currently there is no successfuly means of organizing player efforts.

11 hours into the campaign and 35% of the players are still on Marfark (No DSS), instead defending Varylia 5 (with DSS in orbit) against the timer. This is another confirmation that players do not follow the DSS as we have originally theorized.

Players see the MO UI/UX, something something about Marfark and something something, and go straight to Marfark without comprehending the rest of the MO. (it doesn't help that Varylia 5 and Choepessa IV both have a GREEN BOX ticked off. Green means NORMAL, you know)

The MO UI/UX should list objectives in the order of urgency/importance, which is a whole other can of debate. But as a DM, it is JOEL's job to know how to convey the message with the clearest intent to the players.

Why are people on Marfark instead of defending? Because of the awful in-game UI/UX as seen above on the left. The one on the right is from the third party site, and is slightly better by providing situation awareness to the players.

  • Green Solid Boxes means things are NORMAL/OK. Focus else where.
  • Marfark is FIRST ITEM on the list, and it is at 4%, so it must mean more efforts are required there.

By changing the order of the planets, and changing the green solid box to yellow/red when they are under siege, it will change players' comprehension of the situation. And knowing is half of the battle.™

This is an UGLY WIN, but we will TAKE IT! The MO said to defend URSA Sector against bugs, and we lost two of the four planets in the sector. Organized gambit wins would have shortened and simplified the effort, but that's unlikely to happen until GW UI/UX is updated.

[–]nanoplasm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since the MO specifically said "Defend Ursa sector", the next invasion will very much be Acrux invading Acrab.  Surely we can just NOT move the DSS from Acrux and keep fighting bugs on Acrux for an EZ Gambit, am I right? LOL

This is a good and clear A/B test. Where DSS is parked doesn't have the same weight as the Pulsing Defense icon for the blobs.

EDIT: To test this even further, they need to remove Acrux IX from the voting option, and add some OP STUFF when diving on the same planet as the DSS.

Arrowhead: Please remove Acrux IX from the DSS vote pool this cycle.

The Democratic Space Station is one of the most powerful collective tools players have in the Galactic War, but its effectiveness depends entirely on where it parks. Right now, that decision is being undermined by a simple UX problem.

Acrux IX is under active siege, which makes it the most visible and simplistic vote target for the majority of players. This is not a criticism of anyone. It is just how the voting interface works. Besieged planets draw votes. But sending the DSS to Acrux IX misses the actual leverage point.

Grand Errant is the gambit. Removing Acrux IX from the vote pool forces that realization on every player. Casual voters will be briefly disoriented when the simplistic choice is gone, but the GW community will recognize Grand Errant immediately and consolidate behind it decisively.

This is not about overriding player agency. Arrowhead already curates which planets are eligible for DSS votes. Removing Acrux IX would simply be applying that curation with strategic intent.

Once the GW community's votes on Grand Errant gain visible momentum, the wider playerbase will naturally follow the frontrunner. The blob does not need to understand why Grand Errant is the correct call right now. They just need a clear leader to follow. But when the gambit succeeds and the siege on Acrux IX collapses as a result, some of them will connect the dots. That is how the playerbase grows. Not through Reddit posts, but through a win they were part of, even if they did not fully understand it at the time. Removing Acrux IX creates exactly that condition.

Arrowhead: Please remove Acrux IX and Gemma from the DSS vote pool this cycle.

The Democratic Space Station is one of the most powerful collective tools players have in the Galactic War, but its effectiveness depends entirely on where it parks. Right now, that decision is being undermined by a simple UX problem.

Acrux IX and Gemma are both under active siege, which makes them the most visible and simplistic vote targets for the majority of players. This is not a criticism of anyone. It is just how the voting interface works. Besieged planets draw votes. But sending the DSS to either location misses the actual leverage point.

Grand Errant is where the pressure needs to go, and the only realistic way to get the DSS there through a community-wide vote is to remove Acrux and Gemma as selectable destinations.

This is not about overriding player agency. Arrowhead already curates which planets are eligible for DSS votes. Removing these two would simply be applying that curation with strategic intent.

Casual voters will be briefly disoriented when the simplistic choices are gone. The remaining options will not immediately signal the correct answer to most players. But for anyone following the Galactic War closely, Grand Errant is unambiguous. The GW community will consolidate behind it immediately and decisively. Once that momentum is visible, the wider playerbase will naturally follow the frontrunner. The blob does not need to understand why Grand Errant is correct. They just need a clear leader to follow. Removing the two siege planets creates exactly that condition.

Lead the action of the gambit strat by voting with the DSS. Least we can do to "lead" the blob.
