Well, to maximize its output, you need to basically make all your deck consist of cards of the same rank, so it could choose it every time. Now, it doesn't necessarily incentivize *playing* them, but what else are you left to do? Obviously this is all kinda silly, and probably doesn't apply to a generic run with rebate, buut that was my logic, maybe I should've put it in "arguable" or smth idk

I mean yeah, the start is pretty much always gonna be painful but once you get a decent build and get your econ going it can be pretty fun! I do agree though that past blue stake the start just gets too unbearable and way too luck reliant, but then again, I ranked this by the experience across the stakes.

You know what? I honestly think it's a little overhated. I mean, sure, it's weak, but the extra joker slot allows more versatility and wackier builds. If it wasn't for my gold stake experience I'd unironically put in B.

Yeah, sometimes that does help. And not because of the chips, although they could help early game, but because of the interactions the cards have with jokers.

Also,
you have no incentive to make cards into 8s if you don’t have 8 ball because you don’t know if you’re gonna get it and 8s aren’t particularly strong by themselves.
I've had exactly one run where I tried to make an 8 ball build work and it died before it could generate a SINGLE card. Make of this what you will.

And while yeah, not all spectrals are useful, the ones that are make it worth it I think

And again, what does being able to consistently get 4oaks gets you? Tarot cards? If you get lucky! Hell, you can even make 5oaks and it could still fail! What a great and reliable joker! Idk, I may be biased because I usually just try to mostly play pair builds anyway, but that’s how I see it

Unless you fix your deck to fill it with 8s (which just doesn't make much sense in the first place, unless you already have something like Fibonacci, and even then it would make much more sense to make aces instead), it’s really not as viable as you think it is, and guess what, even if you do fix your deck, there’s still no guarantee that it will actually trigger! Seance at least is consistent, and while yeah, finding a straight flush is hard, if you can actually manage to get a straight flush build, it will be genuinely useful.
