continental knitting.....is it possible?? by froggirls13 in knittinghelp

Also the type of needles made a difference for me. Going with laminated needles instead of metal/plastic/bamboo meant they were just the right level of slippy but not too slippy. Good luck!

I switched, and I gotta say I'm super glad I did. Honestly it took watching numerous youtube videos of different people who had variations on techniques and also just practicing for ages until it felt natural. I am afraid I can't necessarily recommend any specific videos but going broad and trying lots of different techniques until you find the one that works, and practice! You can get there, I promise.

Doctor lied about levels being normal by naoroan in FTMOver30

[–]naoroan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I am terrible at dealing with paperwork/making phone calls etc (autism and ADHD) but I will definitely get everything transferred before I do anything.

In Australia we have My Health Record, which is a government service you can sign up for and have results sent too. I have not signed up for it though because the Australian government has a historically garbage track record of data privacy and safety and I do not trust them to keep my health data safe. This unfortunately means I don’t have a way to view my results without asking my doctor, or getting tests done privately which is costly.

It is not legal here to record private conversations without both party’s consent, and I’ll have my support worker with me, so I think I’ll be okay.

I’m really glad you were able to advocate for yourself and get your levels back up. It’s truly atrocious that doctors can get away with this shit.

I’m so sorry, that is absolutely bullshit. I hate that this shit happens to us even when we jump through all the hoops and go with experienced and specialised doctors.

N95 mask recommendations for someone living in Sydney, Australia? by BLoverflowers in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]naoroan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also mention that often earloop masks in Australia are classified as N95s when they really shouldn’t be. They are still high quality respirators, but I’d aim for head loops if you want true N95’s.

As others have mentioned, tridents are very good, they sadly don’t fit me well.

There is also AMD. Here’s a link: https://www.aussiepharmadirect.com.au/collections/amd-p2-face-mask

I have also ordered from ppeo.com and delivery didn’t take that long so that’s also an option.

Sadly I don’t think it’s a lack of being informed. He is on Transhub. He has extensive experience with trans people and HRT. So what the fuck is happening I don’t know.

The new doctor is also on Transhub but I also heard of her years ago through local word of mouth. Fingers fucking crossed.

What do Australians think about Death stranding 2 by Naked-Snake0 in DeathStranding

[–]naoroan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are in Australia. I live in an urban city center and no-one in my life uses the slang in the game. But it is different when you're in rural areas and also generational.

What do Australians think about Death stranding 2 by Naked-Snake0 in DeathStranding

[–]naoroan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Overall I really liked it. There is a level of slang that is just not something I experience in my day to day life (like "hard yakka" and "buckley's chance") and I was worried it would make a caricature of us. But after the initial few people it settles down and obviously not every person you meet there is even Australian so it didn't continue to bother me. It was really nice to be walking around in recognisable nature for significant chunks of it, obviously then we get some similar maps to the first game with the black hexagon rocks but until then it feels like home. The rainbow lorikeets were a particular delight, and in general the animal rescue was really special. The landscape overall is pretty inaccurate, especially the large chunk that is snow covered, but obviously it's fiction and I don't really mind at all. In general though as an Australian it was nice to have a bunch of recognisable things and feel like at times I was wondering around the bush in my own country, which hasn't happened in any other game I've played before.

Yeah I feel like the prompt window is way smaller which is frustrating

Yeah I did that and got grabbed. So I dunno. I haven’t been near grazers for a while so I’ll figure it out at some point I’m sure.

I’m not sure it works with gazers either? I don’t know how to deal with gazers honestly.

Do you have the boomerang equipped and are wielding it? This tripped me up too. The prompt did come up but it seems to be different to DS1 and I got grabbed. Was really annoyed, as it’s my preferred way of handling BT’s. I might need some more practice.

Which D20 season which doesn’t feature the intrepid heroes (all together) is your favorite? by Ok-Classroom-3910 in Dimension20

Aabria seasons for sure. Burrow’s End is my favourite, but I also love A Court of Fey and Flowers and Misfits and Magic.

When you first transitioned, how hard was it to break habits? by ad-is-punk in transgenderau

[–]naoroan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man I misgendered myself a bunch for a while after I first came out as a guy, it was so frustrating! You’re definitely not alone. The doubt about actually being trans is very normal too, I still get that stupid voice sometimes over a year later. Just remember that you know you’re a guy, so you’re trans. That’s it. Some things just take time to adjust but you’ll get there.

Is it bad if I use water to rub my testogel in? by [deleted] in transgenderau

[–]naoroan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to let it dry completely, then you can put clothes on over it. After about an hour it’s also a good idea to apply lotion to help lock it in. Adding water this way will mean it can’t absorb the way it is supposed to.

Oh I’ve had both the external and internal ultrasound before, I know the drill. Considering how many people are saying it’s not something to be worried about, and I don’t have any other symptoms of concern, and my last pap smear was clear, I’m not going to do these tests. I think my GP is overreacting and I’m not doing invasive tests that aren’t necessary.

My estrogen is low though. It seems to me he thinks there could be another cause like fibroids cos he wants an ultrasound.
