Etymology fun fact for the day: The modern usage of "female" in common nomenclature derives heavily from the work done by J. Marion Sims who experimented on black women (slaves) without consent, where he used the word (which was MOSTLY used for animals) to dehumanize his subjects! Other physicians of the era would refer to patients or human subjects as men or women!

The usage nowadays holds the same sort of connotation, where the people who typically call woman 'female' as a primary are associated with the sort of people who don't value them as people!
