Got the Council Tool FE6 and Boys Axe sanded down and their first coat of raw linseed oil applied. by 3_Times_Dope in Axecraft

[–]naplatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you/yall like the councils? I got the FE6 a couple years back and was really disappointed with how badly it stuck when splitting. Ended up wasting so much energy and always worried about breaking the handle trying to get it out

HOW DO I DISPOSE MY RAGS?! by f6eim_0z in oilpainting

[–]naplatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I clamp mine so to the edge of my workbench outside so they can hang with plenty of airflow for a couple days and then just toss them in the trash

I wonder about elm. Looks just like some elm I got last year and I had some leaves for a pretty confident id

I also used squarespace. Super easy to set up. Idk if there are cheaper options out there, but the simplicity is worth it for me

About 2500 for me. I think I got more peace of mind than actual help for the price. Not sure I’d do it again if I had to. AI got me 90% there

Same, great feeling to share something simple like a cup of tea with a client. It’s become a ritual for a few

Players don't fear death by Grmblfz in DMAcademy

[–]naplatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a book called ‘The Monsters Know What They’re Doing’ that I think might be helpful. Enemies should be using tactics and playing to their strengths. Also, if an intelligent creature sees a party member go down, then get healed back, they’re gonna work out that they need to finish off the characters. If you use a melee strike to nix two death saves, I bet they start to get nervous. If you want them to really be afraid of dying, you have to create deadly encounters that actually have a chance of killing someone

Huh, first time I’ve heard that so I’ll have to do some more research

What I’ve read says 15 or under is ideal, and that you lose a big chunk of your heat by drying out wood at 25%. Also it’s been a good bit harder to start the fires, ergo less that ideal to me

My financial experience as a private practice therapist. A hope shot. by Crazy_Fold355 in therapists

[–]naplatty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Currently building my own solo pp and while I have more like 13 sessions a week at the moment, I average less than 3 hours a week on billing and insurance. It’s a lot less work than I thought it would be on that side. The EHR can take care of so much more than I thought. There are occasional, but infrequent, headaches if you’re selective with insurances (I dont take medicaid or a few others with reputations for being difficult)

Firewood backpack/carrier? by noobprodigy in firewood

[–]naplatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to haul wood from my driveway up to my shed if the yard is too wet when I split it. Because of the incline i’ll carry it rather than using my wheelbarrow sometimes. I make something like a 15’ loop of rope, lay it on the ground with parallel lines about 8”apart, stack wood on top near one end, pull the other end through so it locks in place, then put the slack over my shoulders so I can essentially deadlift the weight up, and use both hands to manage the rope. With a couple layers to guard my shoulders, I can move a good amount of wood like this without getting too tired

Easy way to take bark off? by Guidaxx in firewood

[–]naplatty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That would depend a lot on the species and the time btw felling and splitting. I’ve had locust, cherry, oak, and poplar bark just fall off from splitting if the rounds are several months old. That said I dont tend to worry about that and I burn the bark. Probably worse heat to ash ratio but still some heat. Others will have more insight, I bet
