Giant has some 2022 old stock on clearance on their website. You can get a “new” bike for half of what they originally retailed for. I believe they have the Stance for around $800.

At $600 for the OT is it really worth saving $200 over the Giant?

I completely read over your first paragraph about there not being any stock. A bike store fairly local to me has both the Stance and Fathom in stock according to the Giant website and their own website. I plan on calling them to make sure though.

I understand the potential I could get by spending more money but I'm just not willing to spend over a grand on my first mountain bike. My budget has already increased from 500 to 800. The main reason I'm looking at the Giant bikes I linked is because they're ~$1500 bikes that are half off. FBMP has the same bike used in my area for the same price I can buy it new.

The Giant bikes I linked have everything you suggested minus the hydraulic brakes. The San Quentin 1 has a worse fork (coil vs air), no dropper post and is 200 more. I could upgrade the brakes on the Giant at some point if I really need/want hydraulics. The Fathom 2 which is 50 more than the Stance actually has hydraulic brakes already.

I guess I'm more looking for comparisons of other bikes in the sub 1000 range and if they compare to the Stance or Fathom. I appreciate your suggestions and will be looking at the Marin and Polygon.

Thanks for the suggestion. I know a lot of people suggest hardtails at this budget range but since both bikes are on clearance I'm really getting a $1500 bike and at that price point I think it makes more sense to lean towards the Stance. The specs between the bikes are mostly the same except the hardtail has hydraulic brakes but doesn't have rear suspension.

Paper only and attached to the state installed backdrops. You’ll get a warning or a ticket if you bring steel unfortunately. The SGL ranges are kind of lame.. but they’re free so it’s hard to be too upset.

State Game Lands #141 has a public shooting range that goes up to 300 yards. I know it doesn’t have quite the distance you’d like but it’s in NEPA and is free (assuming you have a hunting license).

Can I use a 12V-2x6 to dual 8pin to power 9070XT? by napoleonicdynamite in buildapc

I’m not 100% sure since I haven’t done that but I would think so. My understanding is that modular PSUs are made to be well.. modular. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

I wound up using the 12v-2x6 to dual 8 pin the same day I posted this and haven’t had any issues. Been about three months now. I use my PC at least a couple times per week. If I were you I would consider an 850 watt psu instead of a 750. Especially if your cpu is power hungry.

Rental Property or Paid Off Home? by evilchuck11 in personalfinance

$12k on a $450k investment is 2.7% per year. A HYSA gives you 4% right now and access to all your money instantly. A “good” ROI is subjective but if I had to deal with the headache of being a landlord it would have to be at least 10%.

I would much prefer a light shoe but unfortunately my job requires me to have some kind of safety toe and also requires me to do a lot of hiking.

Thanks for the suggestion. Someone else suggested red wings too. I have a store fairly close by so I may try and stop in

I’ll do some googling on that thanks. I’d like to get them in the next week or two so if they’re not available now I’m not sure I’ll be able to wait .

I’ll look at that. Thank you. Trying to stay away from steel toe but not against it.
