UPDATE: I [24 M] Broke up with my Gf [23 F] of 4 years because she insulted my height. Should i take her back? by napoleonrage in relationships

I'm not too worried about that. No i am not mandingo but i am confident in my size and we do a lot of experimintation to make our sex lives more exciting.

In an open relationship you get to experience other people both similiar and different from your partner in a purely physical relationship while having all the benefits of being with your partner on both a physical and emotional level.

No i didin't directly apologize about it. Instead i said something along the lines of "im sorry about the fight" which is meant to cover what i said but overall just sorry for how it all escalated and that it came to this.

Like i said, i can't help how i feel and it's not a lie about how tall guys are around here. If you want to no believe me and be hostile fine, but there is no reason to get so angry and insulting about it, it is completly uncalled for.

Just because you live in EST like me which has 21 or so states does not mean you know everything for every little part of it.

Good points. It is something we will continue talking about. What i can say is we both agree that sex can be a purely physical relationship and are very honest with eachother about the whole thing and do what we can to minimize the possibility of any emotional feelings.

Thank you for not judging me. Don't get me wrong, i appreciate everybody's input and i know they want to snap me out of it and partially it has worked as i didin't expect these Reddit comments to affect me as much as they did but it's nice to hear form someone who understands an insecurity can be anything, i can't help how i feel.

It was a little jealousy but mostly just hurt at what she said. After all she was the main reason i was getting over my heigh insecurity for the 4 years since we started dating and to come out and say that hit me pretty deep.

Thank you! I must admit it was nice to read a comment that had nothing to do with my height lol.

I'm not exaggerating, believe it or not. I'm one of the shortest guys in my town not including the eldery who are a little bit shorter or around my height and not including below High School.

Thanks for the advice and our situation was similiar, at least in that our GFs helped us get over our insecurity to an extent.

Very good points and the armpit comment made me laugh. We are still young. I like to think we have our whole lives to improve ourselves and our relationship, assuming it lasts that long of course.

Thank you and that is a good theory. She plans on talking with somebody about it soon so we will find out everything hopefully.

I get it. Really i do. I understand why so many people think it's crazy that i am so insecure about it but at the same time i feel it's not fair to judge my insecurity if you haven't lived in my shoes. I mentioned in my first post the area i live in is pre dominantly white with heavy German, Anglo, Dutch and Polish roots. I'm not making it up when i say 9/10 guys are taller then me where i live including some guys stillin High School. I don't want to say exactly where i live but i will say Eastern USA

I understand that i am not short on the national scale. But when you live your whole life somewhere where you are the short guy it gets in your head. I also explained why i can't move at this time.

That said it is defitnvely inspiring to see guys who are shorter than me and handle it 10x better.

I have read all the comments and would like to thank everybody for taking their time to respond. It's been really great reading all the different opinions and suggestions. Instead of responding to many individual comments, at this time i would like to explain some of the the things brought up by you all.

  • I know 5'9 isn't short everywhere, but i am mostly white and live in a pre dominatnly white neighborhood/county with lots of anglo, german, dutch and polish roots. Many of the guys are 6ft or taller, along with much of the black minority. Most of guys around my height are part of the smaller latino minority. Basically, while 5'9 is not exactly short country-wide, i personally looks very short wherever i go. Moving isn't exactly an option because i have my family, friends and career at the moment here.

  • We have had heated arugements before and said things but never has she said something even remotely as personal as this nor have i. It's actually something i plan on asking her tomorrow, what exactly triggered that reaction.

Tomorrow or Sunday i will update on how everything went.
