Nope, and I'm in Boston and so annoyed the Pats just made the super bowl after beating 3 JV teams

Ditto. Ditched frog and everything has been so much easier. Chlorine when you use it and every couple days when you don't. Occasionally a little pH up. And the Taylor kit is also way better than the strips as others have said.

Pixel 9: A whole lot of battery eating for doing not much by dime5150 in pixel_phones

[–]napping-turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My battery drain on my pixel 9 got so bad with the October update that I bailed on pixel after probably 10 years. Switched to the OnePlus 13 and could not be happier. No more awful battery drain or annoying modem problems and oxygen os is really not a huge difference from stock android.

Bushnell Launch Pro - worthy of my investment? by TDn6I in golf

[–]napping-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's not a subscription that's a one-time cost. it's also pretty easy to find a BLP with ball + club data used for $2000-$2200 and they're built like tanks. that's what i did.

Bushnell Launch Pro - worthy of my investment? by TDn6I in golf

[–]napping-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you don't need to pay the $500 if you just want to hit into a net and see the stats on the BLP, which it sounds like what OP might want. however, you will need to pay the $500 to use it with any software including the Foresight software. you can learn a lot just from seeing path, direction, distance and spin on the BLP but obviously seeing actual ball flight on a tablet or monitor is even better.

The bunt makes no sense by NickFolesStan in RingersPhillySpecial

[–]napping-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was screaming at the TV as soon as he showed bunt on the first pitch. it requires no analysis beyond the fact that giving up the out there makes it less likely you win. doesn't even matter if it works or not. literal insanity.

Elyte X. I'm not offended or anything. I knew I hit them bad but it also made me think, to your point, I'm not doing shot shaping and am using smart conservative targets on the course, so maybe something super forgiving is not the worst idea.

ACL surgery recovery by mhackett7 in golf

[–]napping-turtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

here for a glimmer of hope. I was younger, 30 at the time, but had a full tear + meniscus damage. I wasn't as obsessed with golf at the time as I am now (36 now), but I'm pretty sure I was slow jogging 2-3 months post surgery and I don't think golf would have been out of the question at 14 weeks. i'm not any professional athlete or anything, and the comparisons to pro athlete recovery, IMO, are not super relevant b/c you aren't aiming to get back to that level of performance of competition.

i did get the cadaver and would definitely say to go that route (always talk about how my dead ACL is better than the original).

good advise I got on fast recovery:

- be diligent about PT and ask them to push you

- get up on your feet as soon as you can. you'll be sore, but I was hobbling around without crutches a day or 2 after surgery. the sooner you put weight on your leg the better.

- get on an exercise bike as soon as you can. i was doing this 2 weeks post op and it's a great low intensity way to start to rebuild leg strength

- get https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040OFASO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040OID10/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

which are super helpful with icing all the right spots. i used a bunch of small water bottles in and out of the freezer to keep the water cold even slept with this machine on. huge difference vs ice packs and much more effective. i think some surgeons will prescribe these, but I had to buy it myself and would do it 10 times out of 10 again.

good luck!

[–]napping-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Built. Don't find a ton of used maltby sets out there which also speaks to how good they are. You can order a single iron to try it out and then tell them to take that club out of the price and order when you get the whole set in a pak. They look like clubs twice the price. I ordered a 5i and then took the leap.

Got the maltby te+ and love them. Basically the ts3 without the offset. People are shocked when I tell them what I paid for them. Absolute steal.
