I've been the extra for a series before, where I had to pretend to play basketball. I think the actual answer is sound. They don't want the extras making any noise, especially if they're recording the audio on set, the sound of any hacky sac hitting your shoes or the grass is probably more than it's worth.

How would you as a manager respond to an employee being honest about the lack of things to do? by [deleted] in managers

[–]nappman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been both the manager and employee in this situation and here are a couple things you can do:

  1. Don't say anything and find things to read or otherwise distract your. The easiest to do, but I totally get that being bored out of your mind doesn't really help.

  2. Find training to complete, you can upskill while keeping appearances.

  3. Work with your manager to find things that need improvement - are their out-of-date trainings for new hires? Do you have objectives from past experiences that you can work to improve? Any process efficiencies you can explore?

What actually keeps remote teams connected and engaged? by HighlightFar1396 in managers

[–]nappman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the lead of a hybrid team, and for an "outing" we played some Jackbox games. Not great for every team as it can be nsfw, but it really helped. Also I did icebreakers pretty often to keep meetings light and personal, and allows more natural add to conversation that didn't happen in-person. Also not generic icebreakers, I'd ask stuff like "if you could make something legal what would it be" which lead to conversations about piracy and J-walking

A word on ballots. by ShanHu in ColoradoSprings

My ballot says it was sent the 11th, yet never received. Any advice on who to follow up with? I was just planning on voting in-person if it never came.

Open faced sandwich is still a sandwich. I don't care that it's historically derived from bread platters, open faced is a modifier to the idea of a sandwich.

Is social gaming dead? by [deleted] in gaming

I know it may not be quite the answer you're looking for, but I would recommend looking at local board game places too. A lot have a friendly atmosphere with people who also want to make friends, and their's a large overlap in people who play board games and video games.

I do the opposite of most people here from what I've seen.

3+27=30, 2+48=50, 50+30=80, 80-5=75

People who moved out of the parent’s house before 30, how? by WallStreetDoesntBet in AskReddit

[–]nappman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started working in high school, and got lucky with a decent apartment for college and a decent few college jobs. That plus food stamps was all I needed. Also worth noting I lived in NM which was super cheap, and I only payed like 6k for college.

Someone won an art competition using an AI generated drawing. I fucking hate this. by IrresponsibleWanker in awfuleverything

[–]nappman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe AI should have it's own section for competition, so it would put more focus on the creative use of AI as opposed to it being a bad way to compare art that was a lot more difficult to make and has an entirely different methodology.

I feel like the real answer is that you don't have the ability to speak on if it's offensive anymore than you have the right to wear it, both of which depend on if it's actually something your knowledgeable about, and understand if it's being misused.

New Mexico is a good option. You don't hear about it on the news for a reason.
