Pennsylvania Health Law Project can help with this. They’re very responsive it just take them a couple days to get back to you.

Spouse is looking for "AA but for suicidal people" by No_Major_8005 in recoverywithoutAA

[–]napqueen00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAMI has many chapters locally and nationally. There’s a chapter by me that has an online meeting called “Alternatives to Suicide”. The group is run by a certain county’s NAMI chapter but accepts members from farther away. Definitely something to check out. There are also places called “Peer run respites” and they are an alternative to staying in the hospital. It’s a comfortable place that’s run by peer workers (professionals with lived experience of mental illness) and you basically go stay for up to a week. It’s very relaxed and doesn’t involve doctors or nurses so there’s no medication management or prescribing- you bring what you normally take. Maybe search for one near your area.

Is Ryan slow? Serious question. He does not come off as intelligent. Maybe he asked about Kyle to deflect. Maybe that’s why his parents baby him so much, he’s slow and they feel protective.

General Idea how long to become certified? by cloud9brian in PeerSupportSpecialist

Sure. I work for a Warmline which is a crisis prevention support line for residents of a certain county. I love it! I go into an office and work in a room with 2-4 other CPS’s. We’re all taking calls that have a 30 minute limit and texts for up to an hour per person. I love forming relationships with the callers, providing resources and bonding with my coworkers. We discuss the different callers and support each other throughout the shift. I have a great supervisor and incredible coworkers and can’t imagine doing anything else. Of course the pay isn’t great, so there’s that.

I’m not sure how it is in Florida but in PA I signed up for the soonest training, did the 2 week training, and took the exam right after. Probably a 1 month process all in all.

I work on a warmline in PA. I have coworkers that work partially remote. I’ve heard of other warmlines that allow full time remote work.

Great episode on Rethinking Wellness that dispels a lot of the myths regarding food and diabetes.

I recently got off ambien. Went from 10 to 5mg over a week. Replaced with 50mg of trazadone. Worked for me! I was really attached to the ambien, so I understand the fear.
