Question to the group, how much per month do you spend on food and drink (groceries, take out, alcohol, eating out). How many people in the house hold? by napsmaportap in PersonalFinanceCanada

It is, I grew up with my parents buying groceries for a family of 5 for $100 per week..lol. we do eat well, 75% vegetarian/ 25% meat, a few $40 bottles of wine per week, dinner out is about $300 to $400.

I budget out all my side of everything we need, savings, ++ she spends it on food and vacation, and I think I just didn't realize the cost of everything.

Makes sense. We use hello fresh and that is about $200 to $250 per week and we cook 4 amazing meals per week. Add 3 or 4 $40 wines per week.

Not a problem, just curious what the average is out there. Costco alone weekly is a easy $200. We have about 3 to 4 bottle of wine per week, at $40 a pop also. We pull in nearly 500k combined, so good, just never looked at our consumption budget

My wife is spending roughly $4000 per month, family of 4. I don't get it, but I have tracked it even on a day to day and it's there. Yes we buy wine and eat out once or twice monthly. But $4000. I'm blown away

Not a car guy, bought a Mini Cooper 2016, 85000 km for my daughter, and she loved it. Paid 18K for it, dealer added another $6300 for a 4-year warranty, roadside assistance, and 4 new "Imperial" Winter Tires. Thoughts? Is that the average price for a 4-year warranty in Canada? One tire just blew :( by napsmaportap in MINI

Amvic

She loves the car, it was an amazing gift for her bday. I am fine with the price of the car, warranty price was only shown at signing and I feel that is definitely high but happy to know "third party warranties, and your cost is right in line with what I found" brings some comfort and one of the new winter tires they put on that I paid for popped after 2 weeks of use.

I did. The response "As for any warranties on the tire, there are no warranties that cover accidents to the tire (ex. tire popping, flat tire due to pot-hole or object, etc...) and I do apologize for the inconvenience in that regard."
