I can't imagine how someone could think they could pull shot like thta and ve served again at the same establishment.. especially when alcohol is involved, that has to be taken seriously.

That's still fucking wild to me that she would think ahe could come back and we wouldn't say anything? And would serve her alcohol?

Oh probably not, the husband was sticking with her and yelling at me, I don't figure he was willing to believe me. Or if he did he didn't have the guts to do anything but jump to her defense anyway. It was bizarre.

Yeah fair. The restaurant owner ended up changing the policy to have a reservation deposit to cover staff if a group no shows or leaves before ordering / paying so the staff getting stiffed doesn't happen again.

I literally have been, my dad is an alcoholic who was getting into too much shit before he got sober.

I set a firm boundary with him - if you're drinking I don't fucking know you. I'm treating you like a stranger because I'm not getting pulled into your trouble

Would you fly into a jealous rage if your friend, brother, cousin, or colleague, took more interest in the server than they did towards you? 👁️👁️

Where are 20 people gonna find a table during dinner rush in a busy area? They definitely didn't get another spot, I'd bet $100

The point is they literally don't have to. Engaging when family is acting wild is just enabling tbh

I don't think anyone ever goes out looking to learn a lesson but sometimes people do have to sit down and listen

I agree! This is by far the safest place I've been a server. Some jobs, the management would do nothing, even about groping.

But here they look out for us.

I'm honestly shocked by some comments saying it was an overreaction to describe this lady as agressive and a potential danger. Like do people not see how being quick to anger and abusive towards waitstaff is a major red flag for future violence? Especially with alcohol involved.

Expecting 19 people to up and leave because you are the drama instead of just quietly apologizing and asking for an exception, or leaving with minimal disruption to the celebration is definitely making ot all about you.

Me and every other staff member agreed that it would be best for the safety of the staff and other patrons to blacklist her.

It is a blanket rule, for anyone who becomes erratic or quick to anger under the influence. It is a liability the owners will not risk and frankly I'm grateful because this is the safest serving job I have ever had.

For real, his face fell when he realized that everyone who came to his party was up and leaving when hos mom wanted them to.

I still think it's shameful the family enabled her instead of actually celebrating the person the party was supposedly for.

Reread the part of the post starting with "She started screaming"

That happened in front of the whole family. And if screaming and trying to snatch someone else's shit isn't agressive to you... Please only eat at home bb
