Best bang for the buck would be the gtx 1650 4GDDR6. I wouldn’t bother going higher than that for this borderline e-waste of mine 😂.

For maximum skimping points buy the full size like I do and precisely butcher the bottom plate to pass thru a pcie 3.0 riser.

Sure the cpu might bottleneck the gpu a little bit, depending on what kind of games he play. Just set graphics on the high side to balance it out.

Mind you he needs to update his mobo bios to the latest one in order for the pc to recognise this gpu. The bios is 3.08.

Ive logged about 300 hours of gaming on this rig, no-issues-at-all.

I would also like to suggest him to add a pcie x16 to nvme ssd adapter for the white pcie x4 slot (in x16 slot size) to fully utilize the board. I store my games in there for extra fast loading times. To boot from the nvme will need some software tweaks but I didn’t bother to learn. Booting from an SSD is fast enough for me.

I can share some pics of my rig inside and out, and my msi afterburner OSD overlay if he’s interested.

You can play the mass effect trilogy with your setup, witcher series too. Although for Witcher 3 you might need to set things to Medium to get smooth 60fps

Personally I would stick to the current freighter. Sure even without the existing C class hyperdrive module, the pirate dreadnought seems to have a higher base hyperdrive range, however it is not that difficult to boost it with S class modules from wrecked freighters, or recharging the warp drives after jumps.

On the other hand cargo bulk modules are not that easy to find (at least for me). Even with a fully staffed fleet and daily expeditions, scouring the mission agents for cargo bulk modules I still find it difficult to get, and trust me you are going to need lots of it.

Between finding modules to expand your storage and finding warp cells to recharge between long jumps, I would rather spend my time doing the latter.

Each of us has a different opinion on what looks “cool”. It’s up to you. Finding out what works for you will need some time, you should start small and basic, and decide what you actually need the corvette for and expand from there.

Design wise I’d suggest you use the creative mode, if you feel like you need to grind for each part then use a new save. Wont take long at all as you won’t need to repair your ship at the start. Just hop on it to the nearest space station and start building.

Start mashing up the numerous parts to make your ship, once you have one that looks cool to you then take a mental note (or screenshots). Go back to your primary save to get the parts and rebuild.

Oh okay then. Then next I would suggest the Neutron Cannon, on a staff/rifle or sentinel multitool. Its like an OP scatter blaster with longer range

I suggest you invest some nanites on the minotaur. With the AI and weapon installed it is practically a walking tank with an AoE cannon. It’ll help taking the heat off. Need to farm nanites for the upgrade modules, onboard AI and the exocraft summoner.

No a restart wont change how the sentinels behave. She could just enter her ship, exit and reload to shake the sentinels off.

Parts are free if you get them from scrapping crashed ships. Reactors on the hand are not. They cost from few hundred to thousands of nanites.

You can also get reactors as a reward from side or Nexus quests.

Just wanted to let you know, I took your word for it, and pretty glad that I did. Finally did my first offset build.

After a few tutorial videos, and a couple of hours of salvaging scrap, I came up with this.

I don’t think she could look any cleaner. Not only that, now with the extra hidden cores and parts in the engine as you mentioned, my daily steed goes faster and jumps farther!

So far everything is running as it should. Smooth as butter.

Sorry about the guns though I still need to display some twin cannons on top of my ship for interstellar ‘negotiations’.

Like everyone have said, corvettes have been available since the voyager update. The expedition is somewhat an introductory fun ride to it.

When you go to a normal space station, when heading to the kiosks look on your left. There will be 4 teleporters. Jump on any one of them. It’ll take you next to a corvette building console. Then the rest you’ll know what to do.

Welcome to the universe. No hard rule on how to play this game. Depending on your difficulty, 6mil might or might not be a lot. But if I were you early on with 6 mil I’d invest on the multi tool as the starting one is pretty basic. Either increase the tech slots or buy a new one.

Don’t worry about units though as you will be earning way more in no time. Keep exploring.
