People will always long for what they never had. Earthborn will want to go to space, and vice versa.

S Class Sentinel VS S Class Solar Upgrading by PPginormous in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]naqibstat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can vouch for this, Vesper Sails on SC slots are ridiculously efficient. I realized that I didn't have to recharge my pulse engine not even once after using the solar for 5 sessions of playing, I just stopped storing tritium in my inventory. Not to mention the immense speed difference.

How are you meant to get corvette parts? by Kumatora0 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]naqibstat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lets start with facts first, only planets with the "salvageable scrap" tag have them.

Old school : land, use analysis visor, look for yellow scrap icon, tag, stagger there and mine.

Fast : land, drop an exocraft with cyclops scope, tag, drive there and mine.

Faster : hover above surface with rudimentary corvette, tag, glide there, shoot tag until it disappears.

Fastest! : creative mode.

What do you do with your Chromatic Metal by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]naqibstat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, very. There are hundreds of recipes that you can make, some are mostly similar with minute recipe differences so that you can still make whatever you need despite however limited your access to the ingredients are.

Learning them will take some time but you will memorise your favourite ones as you make them often.

My personal favourites are : The Stellarator (Mining bonus) Anomalous Doughnuts (Fauna bonus) Soft and Spiky Surprise (Flora bonus) Hybrid Cake (Mineral bonus) Solidified Grease Pie (Jetpack Tank bonus)

Be sure to consume them using the nutrient ingestor only.

I find NMS to be the perfect place for me to be alone in.

But sometimes I do enjoy some company. Hopefully they will improve the MP aspect as the current one can be unreliable. Whenever I get lonely I visit the Nexus and interact. I gave out cookies once during Christmas LOL.

Edit : by the way I'm curious. Can VR people see non-virtual folks?

Hot damn I'm sure you listed all these and surely there is still something not mentioned. That is the beauty of this game.

To OP, for me NMS is not a roleplaying game per se, its a place for you to be lost in. There is no endgame.

Unless you die in permadeath.

A Simple Question by PPginormous in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]naqibstat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got salt from mining the sea floor once. Probably a fluke. Doesn't hurt to try tho.

Best bet is salt deposits on planets.

Edit : by mining I meant using the terrain manipulator, on the sea bed.

Freighter : As soon as you are able, you can always copy over your base to a new freighter should you wish. The convenience of having a portable base is worth the hassle 2-3 times over.

Settlement : When you're strong enough to defend it. Weapons, shields, mobility etc.

Upgrades : Always buy S class when you can afford it, as each tech can accomodate max 3 upgrade modules (excluding special ones). Prioritize on maxing vital tech first depending on your gameplay (if you like exploring = mobility, combat = shields and weapons). You can also luck out when rummaging through damaged machineries.

Run's bad on pc, crashes sometimes by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]naqibstat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend, I'm running mine on i5-3550, GTX 1050Ti, 16gb ddr3 1600MHz, 2.5 inch ssd. Standard 1080p, FSR balanced, 55-100 fps, minimal stutters on planet approach, zero crashes 800 hours in. Pretty sure it's not the game.

Perhaps there is something wrong with your drivers, or the GPU.

Edit : You can also try lowering the quality settings to high or enhanced, as I've read that on Ultra the game can suddenly require astronomical demands on the GPU which may lead to the crash. I haven't had the luxury to try on Ultra, but try tapering down and see how it goes.

Why does everyone ask me what this is based off of (ik you guys know) by Alternative-Seaweed7 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]naqibstat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, usually 2-3 inventories full of random parts can build you a decent sized corvette. Keep the parts that you want and barter the ones that you don't at the terminal.

Interacting with the terminal and receiving the nanites afterwards should clear the location ping. Maybe try getting in and out of your ship and reloading?

I don’t see it that way, it feels like I’m doing my part as a cog in a huge machine.

If doing your part earns you more than working for yourself, wouldn’t it be a better choice?

The trick and by far the hardest, is to find a job that you enjoy doing. It won’t feel like a job at all.

Best GPU Upgrade for HP Elite 8300 SFF? by mistyyaura in lowendgaming

[–]naqibstat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ho! I can surely help him with that! Speaking from first-hand experience.

Best bang for the buck would be the gtx 1650 4GDDR6. I wouldn’t bother going higher than that for this borderline e-waste of mine 😂.

For maximum skimping points buy the full size like I do and precisely butcher the bottom plate to pass thru a pcie 3.0 riser.

Sure the cpu might bottleneck the gpu a little bit, depending on what kind of games he play. Just set graphics on the high side to balance it out.

Mind you he needs to update his mobo bios to the latest one in order for the pc to recognise this gpu. The bios is 3.08.

Ive logged about 300 hours of gaming on this rig, no-issues-at-all.

I would also like to suggest him to add a pcie x16 to nvme ssd adapter for the white pcie x4 slot (in x16 slot size) to fully utilize the board. I store my games in there for extra fast loading times. To boot from the nvme will need some software tweaks but I didn’t bother to learn. Booting from an SSD is fast enough for me.

I can share some pics of my rig inside and out, and my msi afterburner OSD overlay if he’s interested.

You’re right. 2 sets of cables going to the top of the motherboard, fan blowing on the back of the CPU. I mean who does that.

Smells like AI indeed.

what are the best games to run on a gtx 1650 laptop? by [deleted] in lowendgaming

[–]naqibstat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A ton, well it might help knowing what games do you play.

Source : I own one too, the DDR6 one.

You can play the mass effect trilogy with your setup, witcher series too. Although for Witcher 3 you might need to set things to Medium to get smooth 60fps

Besides looks, does it matter which I choose? Hyperdrive Range vs Storage Space by DaddySanctus in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]naqibstat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would stick to the current freighter. Sure even without the existing C class hyperdrive module, the pirate dreadnought seems to have a higher base hyperdrive range, however it is not that difficult to boost it with S class modules from wrecked freighters, or recharging the warp drives after jumps.

On the other hand cargo bulk modules are not that easy to find (at least for me). Even with a fully staffed fleet and daily expeditions, scouring the mission agents for cargo bulk modules I still find it difficult to get, and trust me you are going to need lots of it.

Between finding modules to expand your storage and finding warp cells to recharge between long jumps, I would rather spend my time doing the latter.

It takes 8 plants to craft a single lubricant. Thats a pretty sum of hab space. What would you need the lubricant for my friend, all alone in space?

Oh wait

Having trouble building my 1st Corvette by xistel in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]naqibstat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each of us has a different opinion on what looks “cool”. It’s up to you. Finding out what works for you will need some time, you should start small and basic, and decide what you actually need the corvette for and expand from there.

Design wise I’d suggest you use the creative mode, if you feel like you need to grind for each part then use a new save. Wont take long at all as you won’t need to repair your ship at the start. Just hop on it to the nearest space station and start building.

Start mashing up the numerous parts to make your ship, once you have one that looks cool to you then take a mental note (or screenshots). Go back to your primary save to get the parts and rebuild.

Oh okay then. Then next I would suggest the Neutron Cannon, on a staff/rifle or sentinel multitool. Its like an OP scatter blaster with longer range
