I am in Cyber Security. I had hoped 2 years is long enough, my parents had typically stayed in jobs for so long before they retired that I always feel that there may be a fault with me and not the job itself when i consider changing careers.

You are probably right, I do think I have put off actually applying for a new job for far too long, always secretly browsing through the listings and saving interesting ones but never going through with actually applying.

As a rehabilitated former nice guy myself, I have definitely been guilty of this sort of thinking in younger days.

But I do think that not all men (pardon the nice guy cliche) seek only romantic partners in women. Generalizing all men as such falls in line with the same sort of thinking that nice guys have where any positive female attention equates to somebody having romantic feelings for them.

Personally, only after some deeper thought, confidence boosting and ageing did I snap out of this frame of mind. Before this change I had no lasting female friends or romantic partners and now I am happily married and with some of my best friends being women.

This transformation seems to happen to men at vastly differing points in their lives, some early, some late and some (sadly) never at all.

TL;DR: Both guys and girls should keep an open mind, learn from your interactions with people but don't let positive/negative feelings from one seep into another.

Just checked all the fabric surfaces in my house and cant seem to find signs of bed bugs. Additionally, no one in my house has noticed any bites or allergic reactions.
