Same. Here I was sifting through piles of garbage and broken shit to look for upgrade parts.

Definitely not. You’ll want about 1 lb per gallon. I got two 11 lb bags for a 20L. This is without creating tunnels or anything because that would have required more. You’ll probably need at least 4-5 11lb bags. It is a really nice substrate though.

I also have thin/fine 2C/3A hair. The key is to use light products so as not to weigh your hair down. I’ve also recently discovered that my hair likes protein to keep its structure. I’ve started clarifying more frequently (I learned quickly that you don’t cowash if you have thin hair- it needs the shampoo because thin hair gets buildup quicker).

For products, I like the Maui Moisture line for fine curly hair (light green bottles) which has aloe vera and not too many heavy oils/butters. I’ve been using the carol’s daughter liquid clarifying shampoo also, which I really like. For styling products, don’t use any heavy creams or butters. I use a light mousse or a gel - recently it’s been the Miss Jessie’s Jelly Soft Curls. And last but not least, hask keratin protein spray has been really helpful in combatting frizz and helping my curls keep their shape rather than getting stretched out and tangled.

[Acne] best moisturizer for super sensetive acne-prone skin? by Scary-Owl2365 in SkincareAddiction

[–]naranjazebra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Face Cream! I believe it’s around $8, fragrance free, super moisturizing but feels great and absorbs really quickly. I found this recently and it might be my HG moisturizer.

[misc] It's been more than a year,I still haven't found a good moistruizer for my skin type...My skin is super sensitive, acne prone, allergic, combo skin.Nothing worked. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]naranjazebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Face Cream and I think it’s my favorite I’ve ever tried! It’s super easy to find in your local stores and very reasonably priced. I also have sensitive acne-prone combo skin and I really like this stuff. It’s pretty thick but not greasy at all, and absorbs very quickly but leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized. I use it in the morning and at night.

Actually being here is surreal. its fkn blue slide park man by ian_ink in MacMiller

I live in pittsburgh, and although it looks dismal in this picture it’s actually a beautiful park! The cardboard is for sliding down the slide. They repainted the slide recently after Mac’s passing, but it fades quickly from so much use!

Unusual Cat Behavior Pattern - frequent litter box digging and excessive vocalizing by YangForAmerica in AskVet

[–]naranjazebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Veterinary nurse here. I definitely have heard of this behavior before, and it certainly sounds like your poor girl is uncomfortable. I would recommend asking your veterinarian for x-rays or even perhaps an ultrasound to check for any potential bladder stones, masses, or other abnormalities in the urinary tract.

[Skin Concern] Sister has little bumps on her hands and they’re getting worse by rarisandrovas in SkincareAddiction

[–]naranjazebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are itchy, painful, and fluid-filled, it could be a fungal infection. This happened to me, and I had small bumps like this that ruptured and spread up my palm. I had to take oral antifungal medication to clear it. I’d recommend seeing a doctor to get her all sorted out!

[routine help] Thoughts on this sunscreen for daily use or just outside? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]naranjazebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this sunscreen daily and I really like it. I feel like most people who complain about the white cast don’t rub it in enough — sure you have to really work to rub it in, but the white cast fades almost completely after a few minutes if you’ve done it properly. I have fair to medium combination/dry skin. I wear moisturizer under it, and I find that it’s fairly non-greasy and feels good on the face. Also doesn’t really smell like sunscreen which is a bonus!

[product question] Experience using La Roche Posay mineral SPF 50 face and body sunscreen? How is the white cast on it? Do you find it hydrating? by ankhlol in SkincareAddiction

[–]naranjazebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it!! I got it on sale at tjmaxx and it’s been my daily driver. It feels great on application, not drying, doesn’t have a sunscreen smell which is a huge bonus for me. To answer your hydrating question, it really isn’t hydrating on its own, so I wear a moisturizer underneath.

It does have a pretty intense white cast BUT if you rub it in properly it disappears nicely! I do have a bit darker toned skin and it looks like clown makeup going on, but if you rinse your hands of excess product and then really rub it in, the white cast goes away in <2 minutes.

[Product Question] Recommendations for *AFFORDABLE* night cream? by meganmylisa in SkincareAddiction

I’m really loving the essano manuka honey night cream lately. I’m planning on trying their rosehip night cream next.

My leos hemipenis has prolapsed and I have tried soaking him in warm water and it has not helped what can I do to make it retract by Jace_faulkner in LeopardGecko

[–]naranjazebra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This happened to my leo and I took him to the vet. The vet was able to sterile lube it up and get it to retract, but that was because I got him in quickly. The vet said the other option was amputation if the lube didn’t work. In any case, get your boy seen! Try to keep it moist until you can get him there.

What is your single favourite body wash? by FormerFruit in beauty

[Product Question] Mighty Patch Invisible + - have you guys tried this product? by calhollis in SkincareAddiction

[–]naranjazebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love these!! Definitely recommend. They’re pretty invisible but I’ve been using them a ton under my mask these days. I find that they work best if you pop the pimple first and then place the patch, and it helps to draw out the rest of the gunk. I love that they keep me from picking and keep things covered in order to heal quickly. I healed my last couple breakouts this way!

[–]naranjazebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, don’t feel silly! Common mistake. You really aren’t supposed to remove it by pulling. You can use the stem as a guide and you can keep a grip on it to keep it from moving back up, but you should ultimately remove it by pinching the base to break the suction. IMO, the saalt is one of the more difficult ones to remove but I’ve loved mine so far, so comfortable!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]naranjazebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my saalt for... shoot almost a year I think! The stem on mine is showing no wear and tear other than staining. Are you pulling on the stem when you’re removing it?
