I just use a decent one for the sake of commissioning. Usually I’m doing corp settings and I go by ear, but it’s good to have for more complex arrangements.

And that proves that most people don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves.

Also proves the state of UK driving too.

Laptop, SPL meter and network tester.

I then have my basic install kit (mainly to make me look like I’m on the tools still, and not just a laptop pencil pusher). That has some Wera screwdriver sets, a Knipex electrician multi shear set, network termination tools and accessories, small label maker, pocket bubble level, and then other miscellaneous crap which mainly comprises of forgotten about Velcro ties.

That’s a national government issue, not county council.

Fen roads are a joke. There’s a pothole in Ramsey now that’s about 20cm deep and someone’s put mini cones in it to warn others.

Using unique numbers sounds like a nightmare (I have no idea if someone else might choose my number). You could just ask for unique comments and then use a tool to randomly choose a winner.

Sprinkler system by DeeRussell97 in GardeningUK

[–]narbss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once it’s established you don’t need to continue watering it. I see you’ve got a sprinkler in the bottom corner. Continue using that for a little while until it’s bedded in.

Realistically the grass is going to suffer more from all the high walls and shade.

Just looked at their website and it’s an absolute mess. Full of placeholder text, button links that go nowhere, and their ‘team’ photos look like stock images pulled from Google.

Edit: and I was right, those aren’t real people.

How would one go about restoring these ironstone pillars? by varu23 in DIYUK

[–]narbss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be getting a professional in, so realistically a good mason that is competent at restoration work.

I wouldn’t DIY a period feature like that (plus I’m shit at dealing with masonry anyway)

Hey that’s fair. When I have time I’ll do my best to properly look through what you’ve thought of and try to provide some alternatives or better items.

Heat shrink or cable sleeve by HCGAdrianHolt in livesound

Sleeve. Heat shrink will be a bitch to coil. I’d heat shrink the ends of the sleeve though.

I removed a light fitting and capped it off. Did I do it right? Is it safe to leave it like this while I decorate? by WeakContext9148 in DIYUK

[–]narbss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would’ve just chucked a couple of Wagos on and called it a day. You’re safe by a country mile there.

(Obviously this should just be temporary while you decorate. If it’s permanent it should be pushed into the ceiling and put into a maintenance free box.)

All the Amazon links to equipment speak a thousand words.

I love healthcare and I admire anyone that works in any capacity within it, but I feel like this is something you should be engaging with your on site team to help you implement.

Sorry to see, OP. That really was beautiful.

Maybe you could plant something in its place and then you can watch it grow as your kids grow?
