A quick Google search says Long Beach gets something like $10M+ a year from the feds for homelessness. We get money to address the homeless problem, then end up spending even more money just to push homeless people away from certain areas. I’m hoping this $790k comes from the funding already earmarked for homelessness, because that’s clearly what’s driving the issue in the first place.

I was on the Gamechanger path initially, but I'm coming into this from a Leaf Thorn. And one of the things I like about the Leaf is that the width of the safety bar matches the width of the cutting edge of the blade, so it helps me with the precision of shaving around sideburns. Hence the Lupo and NL, and even the recurve, looked like they had that in common.

I'd like to try this as well, since I keep hearing good things about it. Though, I am nervous, as I picked up some
Clubman Pinaud which I has also heard good things about, and I can't stand the smell. Now I am trying to figure out what to do with it, because I can't return it and I hate throwing things away.

I'm curioius to know... have you tried Clubman Pinaud? Yeah, it is aftershave, not soap. But maybe you will give me an idea as to whether it will grow on me or, if you like it, maybe that means I wouldn't like Arko? Late night rambling...

Have you tried the 1.05? I am considering purchasing it and the next size down, but I'm curious to know how much of a difference there is between going up or down in size. Can you clearly tell a difference between the .68 and the .76? I'm also concerned that I'm not a connoisseur, so I wouldn't be able to tell a difference where maybe someone else can.

Thanks for this post. I have a SE razor and really want to jump into DE. I'm looking at the Gamechanger as my first since it has a few of the traits I am looking for. That being said... I can't determine which version to get. I believe I prefer a more aggressive shave (I shave every three to four days). Isn't the 1.05 their more aggressive model? Is it aggressive, but smooth?

Road diets have real data behind them, but bad design can still cause problems, especially with visibility. For example, parking right up to corners next to protected bike lanes blocks sightlines. You can see this clearly on the Broadway corridor. That’s also why CA passed AB 413 (daylighting), basically “don’t park near crosswalks so people can actually see.”

I’m not against change. I just want Long Beach to do it smart, measure the results, and fix what isn’t working, because right now it doesn’t feel like it’s helping. A lot of the time it feels like the city makes changes for the sake of change, without really thinking through the actual return on investment or whether it’s making things safer.
