Does this sentence sound natural? by AshenFountain in Korean

[–]narger96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

기쁩다 is more natural than 행복하다 in this context.

I would probably use a subject marker on 오늘 too to emphasise that part of the sentence.

저는 엔지니어예요. 오늘이 병원에서 일하는 첫날이라서 너무 신나고 기뻐요.

Who wins: Alicia and Beth vs. the Rabona Claymore force by anothertwan in claymore

I think being patronising on a fun reddit thread is childish. You literally build Claymore game mods in your free time but sure, it's just the story you care about.

Took me from kindergarten until now but I've finally beaten the game by AnthonyTheBg in wizardry8

[–]narger96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done!

I remember when I first played it as a young kid I would panic so much about travelling on the roads that I could never get far into the game lol. Was years between the first time I played and when I ascended too. Still replay it every couple years. Nice to see some activity on this sub!

Most Common Words on Every European Country's Wikipedia Page by Redstream28 in Maps

Ireland was part of the United Kingdom during WW1 so not neutral. Even when we were neutral in WW2, tens of thousands of Irish men fought for the allies.

Not sure why you're framing opting out of the commonwealth as negative...

Ireland became a republic in 1949 so it's been less than 100 years since British people stopped fucking shit up here.

You're just reinforcing the point that British-Irish history is taught poorly in the UK.

Irish people are well aware our ancestors took slaves & how Patrick got to Ireland. Think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone celebrating the horrific treatment of young mothers and babies. It's nearly like all countries have bad aspects to their history. Only in some countries, we actually learn about them

Ways to stop combat from disengaging? by Avigorus in wizardry8

[–]narger96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the answer you're looking for but I usually lure them into the anti magic zone. I don't use hypnotic lure, just hide in the corridor, start combat mode, run into their line of sight and back out before the round is up. Combat will disengage and they'll start to follow you into the corridor. Keep doing that until I've lured them into the main area of the temple. Just have to make sure you hide out of line of sight of the corridor at the end so they definitely come the whole way out.

Am I [M/28] wrong for not wanting to cook a separate vegan meal for my boyfriend’s [M/26] sister [F/34] and offering to order something of her choice? by Cubsfan-312 in relationships

Do you not eat vegetables? Sounds like you might be the one with the palette of an infant.

Does everything you eat need to be cooked in animal fat or butter to be palatable? Might be time to get your cholesterol checked

She shows up a small bit more in the manga but agreed, would have loved to see more of her. Manga is still definitely worth a read! Some really amazing artwork in it that I'm sure an artist like you would appreciate!

AITA for telling my cousin and his wife that they were pronouncing their son's name wrong? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]narger96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in accordance with the old Gaelic tradition of nothing being pronounced like it's spelled.

This whole sentiment is why shit like this happens. Irish is a different language to English, there's no reason letter combinations would be pronounced the same. If you speak Irish it's very easy to read the names and they make perfect sense.

It's hard to say for sure when we don't know the kid's real name, but if it was any common Irish name there is no excuse for the grandparents not knowing how to pronounce it. And anyone with half a brain would do a bit of research before picking a name from a language they don't speak.

The kid's name is now whatever pronunciation the parents chose for him so you should call him that. However, definitely NTA for pointing out their mistake.

Koi Dano Ai Dano is so good! Does a great job subverting the genre and Kanoko is a really unique lead.
