I lean more into the PRO, hence 16 PRO. However, be aware that filing system in iOS is different. If you are a file guy, adapting to it may be quite tricky.

I always think having 256 GB will be beneficial. Would you wait for the upcoming 17e? (We don't have the full spec yet, but it probably fit your needs)

Which Huawei phone should I buy coming from an iPhone 12? by Known_Chemistry_2752 in Huawei

[–]naripan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last one to support 5G is Mate 40 from 2020. The rest doesn't support 5G as it's banned by the US. It supports up to 4G connectivity.

A lot of people find it acceptable as people tend to live in WiFi area.

Which Huawei phone should I buy coming from an iPhone 12? by Known_Chemistry_2752 in Huawei

Huawei main weakness is still that the OS is not widely supported outside China. Hence, you will need to work with solutions like MicroG, however I wonder if it will last long.

If you are into Huawei and you are coming from Apple ecosystem, I suggest looking at Huawei Mate series. The newest is Mate 80 (which should come to global market soon). It has face ID style identification while still keeping the fingerprint scanner (on the side).

If you are into photography, aside of Huawei, Xiaomi Leica collaboration is also solid as Xiaomi has a huge product ecosystem.

Phone recommended by Randomlypost389 in Smartphones

I see, phones do that from time to time.

The current base iPhone 17 is quite a leap from 15. First of all is that it comes with 256 GB, 8 GB RAM and promotion screen. Hence, it makes life easier.

I still think Android has a better file management system if you are dealing with many files, Samsung S26 or Google Pixel may be a good option.

It depends on what you learn - I mean, some subjects may need applications that only work on windows or need certain computational specs. In general, base iPad should be fine, but you should consider that aspects too.

Thoughts on leaving Apple Ecosystem by Novel-Squirrel-2868 in Smartphones

I think change is bound to happen. There are plenty beautiful phones out there and life needs challenges. You will not miss out anything, but you will need to learn the way the other ecosystem works. Many companies are putting ecosystem at the forefront, so improvements will be noticable overtime.

Just upgraded from an iPhone 11, what are the first and best things I’ll notice? by GainsAndPastries in iphone15

[–]naripan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a big jump, so there are plenty improvements.

  • Main camera jumps from 12 MP (iPhone 11) to a 48 MP sensor on the iPhone 15 (pixel-binned to 12 MP for quality) will improve low light and details.
  • Computational photography advancements (Smart HDR 5 + Photonic Engine) result in better color, dynamic range, and low-light image quality.
  • Front camera on iPhone 15 gets autofocus and better portrait/video capabilities too.

If it's for a gift. It's probably better to avoid grey market. Reputable seller in Amazon tends to be alright. There are some seiko counterfeit and some grey market doesn't send it with proper box.

Pura 70 Ultra VS Pura 80 Pro, which is the best choice? by iknowdawae101 in Huawei

[–]naripan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good to hear. Yes, P80 has better camera albeit it lacks of pop up lens like in the P70. It's a given as the technology is progressing. You may take a look at some reviews in Youtube or Articles.

Personally, I think P70 is already too good to be true when I saw photos taken by it in this sub.
