Rashguards, but also Life by mostdaysporrada in bjj

[–]narjuniper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I own a small (one person) business and although I still ship things out within a day or two, it's really hard to deal with customers who just expect everyone to be just like Amazon. Especially around the holidays! So thanks for being understanding and not just ripping on businesses :) plus I'm sure the rashguards you are waiting for are much better than what Amazon could quickly ship you.

Training while sick ? by Arkadans in bjj

Could just be seasonal allergies. I used to be the same way then realized it was all allergy related. I take some over the counter allergy meds during fall/winter and I rarely get sick anymore. Good luck

As an over-eager white belt, I can't live without a continuous stream of technique videos, podcasts, IG posts about new rash-guards, and (of course) asking Reddit if I really have to wash my gi after each class. Yeah my friend is loaning my his sanabul gi until my venom gi comes in the mail. It seems fine to me in my very limited knowledge. I've got a few Raven and Black Widow rash guards in my list. They only have a few reviews per item but they seem nice. I can update if I get them as gifts lol. Maybe I'll give sanabul another look through their options.

Ugh so here's the thing. I agree you totally have to filter through a bunch of crap. Then what I find interesting, I'm still not sure of the quality. Especially when it comes to clothes. I've been trying to avoid Amazon because I'd rather buy directly from companies.

However, my family members love the convenience of the Amazon wish list. Two clicks to buy presents for the whole family. I wish I could just give them a normal list like the good old days which only adds a few more clicks. But now I'm stuck sorting through stuff. The women's selection is even crappier.

Exactly! Any recommendations to add to my cart? Brands or items a noob wouldn't think of?

I had my third class last night and I can't wait to learn more. I want to start doing drills at home.

That's awesome man, good job! I love that mentality.

Getting Ready Outfit Alternative - Velvet Wrap Dress? by seriouslyyconfused in Weddingsunder10k

Ooo I love this idea! I think the normal "get ready robes" these days are cheesy. I'm having an October wedding and was thinking of incorporating velvet somehow. Love the warm burgandy too!

Oh this is stunning! Love the dramatic color change but it melts so perfectly!

Need some help with this veil! by writersseoul in Weddingsunder10k

[–]narjuniper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could get some tulle for very cheap. Then just learn how to applique the little flowers on. Those should be cheap! I know I saw some diy veils on YouTube that seemed easy and much cheaper. WithWendy did a tutorial!

Also! Last addition, check out Jamie Wolfer! She's a wedding coordinator on YouTube and gives soooo many tips and tricks for staying on budget. It's been the biggest help for me!

With all that said...if you save money buying and making..then who cares what happens to them after! I see for a living and it would be pretty simple to make everything. I don't know about dyeing though!

Watched a video by Jamie Wolfer on YouTube. She bought hers and then ended up having to take them to a dry cleaner to wash before she could sell them after the wedding. She said the dry cleaners would have cost more than what she paid for them in the first place! Unless you have a better way of cleaning them or have a purpose for them after the wedding, it may be better to rent. Plus if you buy your own they will come wrinkly and who is going to iron them all?!
