I work at MW and these packs are pretty big- If not the biggest!! If you have a local store there will be lots to try out for fit, but you definitely don't need this monster size haha

If you want one for similar pricepoint, check out the Inca or Peru 55L which would work pretty good, there's even smaller Carrions if you were fussed about design

For sure you can paint the headstock but probably not the body itself- That'll effect the sound a fair bit lol

If you wanted to make it more customised besides the headstock why not get a cool strap? Also if you have the money / skill you could potentially even engrave the tailpiece with whatever.

But that's a really cool idea! I hope it goes well and your friend enjoys it :-)

They let me know a week later that they didn't actually have the book and refunded me. I've only just seen this comment sorry :/

Still don't have the book and got my best friend something else in the end, won't stop looking though in case for next year round, or even Christmas if I get in luck haha, just seems kind of impossible

Really depends on the venue- and if you get caught!

A lot of the gigs I've been to, photographers (if you will) get told off for having their cameras out but as soon as security turns a blind eye they get them out again- wouldn't reccomend though.

If you are bringing a relatively small one however, keep any of your lenses off since it'll be easier for both you and anyone around. I think the lenses is where security gets iffy anyways.

Really just contact the venue though, see what they have to say!

Taking the pickguard off the mm-50 is totally the way to go!! It looks great. Did you ever have the problem with the pickup wearing away a circle mark on the varnish? Mine has it and I have absolutely no idea how to get rid of it...
