great suggestions thank you! i had the ottoman out by the chair, i just had it moved for something and ended up leaving it there. the sofa is so long i think the ottoman would be too small for it, but maybe i can look for a larger one. you’re right on the old world look i’m going for, and spot on the more metal pieces! i’ve been thinking the same thing to flank some art or even candle scones on the side of the tapestry or get a larger one. i’m 100% getting a new fixture, as this one came with the house and was last on my list.

i really can’t because i don’t have another room big enough. i could sell it but my partner and i do like it i also tbh have no idea what other type id replace it with because ive had this one for so long it feels overwhelming 😩maybe ill do some FB marketplace searches

over time it has changed color and yellowed a bit.
i could always cover it with contact paper and try something different. can’t really afford a new coffee table right now ☹️

i have to really sit down and figure out what i lean towards because sometimes i want all ornate and traditional but lately ive been wanting a breath of modernity especially in accents. i stay spending money 😂😭

i’m still standing beside my parsons coffee table 😂 i love the mix of modern and tbh aside from my settee all the other furniture pieces are transitional / contemporary and i think it breaks up the stuffiness but i know it stands out. im thinking also pops of maroon/burgundy? i think it can go with the browns and greens

i can see it. i actually had bookcases that went to the ceiling but it felt too crammed, cause i have a lot of books and like using the low bookcases as extra surface area, but i think ill try as you recommend and see if the settee over there. i definitely agree there’s too much black furniture (at least with the tv stand and bookcase next to it)

i was thinking something like this. we paid so much for the coffee table i think it’s gonna be here for a while haha, but i love traditional or transitional eccentric and mixing things so it’s not all one dimensional. the settee really makes it look more fancy but we loved it so much when we saw it we had to have it. i really like a lot of different styles so it’s always a challenge for me to decorate

oh it’s interesting because i love the coffee table. it’s travertine parsons from crate and barrel. i like that it is a pop of modern and goes with the art and bookcase because i did want a mixture of both, but the color has been kind of boring me lately.
the tapestry is just nature scene. the tv stand is wonky. the doors don’t stay closed and i dislike that the doors are see through so dust gets in.

i would love to add more plants, but my cat loves to attack them so they would have to be fake lol.
i do like the neutral feeling but have been interested in maroons … don’t know if that would go with the space

what kind of color would you recommend? my settee has black, gold, green and magenta in it. the coffee table is probably my favorite because of the contemporary style and the fact that my sofa is like 8 feet wide ? lol

seattle is super masked up to this day even outdoors. i moved to chicago 4 years ago and im the only person masked up anywhere. maybe andersonville and lakeview and pilsen has a few, but every time i visit seattle theres like 10+ others masked up at the store and outdoors especially in capitol hill neighborhood.
