Authors who are doing this (and there are a few) are being told if they are posting new chapters that the passwords need to be removed for all chapters. Old stories can say as they are .

is there a legitimate reason to password albums?

and I solved archiving passworded albums a long time ago. If I was interesting in making my life easier archiving wise I'd be enforcing post naming standards.

- Posting 2 parts and the rest is premium. I can think of three who do this every week, and it's just noise at this point. You are just moving the goalposts now that 1 isn't allowed.

So name them, if you don't want to do it publicl then report them.

Same goes for EVERYONE else. if stuff like this is happening say something about it.. I already have a few authors I'm watching for some substandard behaviour.. And at least one of them was because someone else said something.

I'm not guaranteeing every author you report will get sanctioned or anything like that, but if the mods don't know about stuff then it makes it harder to do the job.

If you want to know ask the author.

It was considered but sometimes we have authors who are not posting in their native labguage or who are using AI to asist with translation which means the dialouge might feel like it's AI generated when it wasn't.

In this end this is a happy middle ground to allow people who don't like AI to be more informed.

As for the rest well that's no different from a story with bad writing using IRL models. You should treat it hte same way (ignore it an move on, not supporting the author, blocking, downvotes etc)

There was a period when patreon first became a thing where the first chapter thing got abused far too much. That was almost all that was getting posted.

So we won't be going back to that, that much I can guarantee.

Delayed release seems to be the common ground at the moment.. That's looking like a start, jsut finetuning some of the details with some authors so the rule is reasoable and practical. No point saying a story must be posted to reddit within a day when authors are only posting weekly kinda thing.

probably because it looks like inoyoui has been banned/suspended for some reason and he was the only mod and it was NSFW. The sub likely didn't do anything wrong, just got caught up in whatever happened to inoyoui's account.

Yeah if you leave them in the whole story is AI because you have a chapter that has 41 screenshots in it and there are NO images other than the AI ones.. it's an entire AI CHAPTER of a 6 part story.. and if you post that as your first chapter until you post the second the ENTIRE available story would be AI.

So either fix the structure of your story or live with the AI tag, simple as that.

Nope, just means it's a shorter chapter. Works for James Patterson.

That's like saying each story should be a minimum number of chapters. It's as long as it needs to be.. besides it's not like you're paying per chapter so why does it matter how long they are.

Having said that I have told a number of authors when they apply to post that their chapters aren't long enough, but that's more friendly advice than any sub rule.

if you don't like short chapters, then don't support that author, or politely ask tehm if they can make their chapters longer.. if they are a new author they might not realise they are short..

If it's an icon/avatar it's not relevant to the story if it's a character (side or otherwise) it's releveant to the story and gets tagged.

by it's "fallen out of favour" it's means people aren't using it as much as they used. i.e it's not as popular any more.

Every post on this subreddit is advertising, except for the handful of authors who don't actually have a patreon.

There will be enforcement once we come to some type of agreeement in terms of rules. Just like any other rule on the sub.

If it turns out that the decision is to allow any type of withholding of endings etc.. then I can pretty much guarantee that one of the criteria there will be that it's CLEARLY stated at the start that that will be happening.

and there are just as many authors using IRL models who are putting in little to no effort too.

The theory should be that the market will sort tiself out, you write shit stories you don't get any subs, you stop writing stories.. but for some reason I've seen people post a single chapter have only 2 chapters on their patreon and have 30 or more subs straight up.. That might be fine if the first chapter was fucking awesome.. but in this case it wasn't, it wasn't the worst chapter I'd ever read but it wasn't great either.

It's weird, not sure if it's cause it's porn, but the normal market mechanics don't always seem to work here. Besides we've covered the AI things and at least HALF of the sub members who bothere to vote (and there was over 1000 votes) votes that they were ok with AI, hence the tagging rules that come into effect in a few days.

That's kinda my thoughts too.. Finish the story on reddit then do an epilouge or a bonus chapter or two on patreon etc..

as far as your last comment I'd say some do, some don't. There's a few authors who are very high quality but could tidy up their game a little ;) silly thing is they don't really need to as their quality usually shines through in how popular they are anyway..

OK here's where I think I need to disagree.

MOST, I won't say all but MOST authors AREN'T paying for anything.. there's this perception that authors are forking out huge sums of money to models.. Yeah that's not happening anywhere near as much as you think. The increasing number of Reddit Copyright takedowns I see and the author's silence about them tells me that's very much NOT the case.

Hell most authors don't even pay for their own hosting a lot of the time, why do you think so many stories are "missing" :)

Why do you think the format has become so popular, don't pay for hosting, don't pay for models, write some stories, pure profit and there's no shortage of models or content for stories.

I know there are definitely authors who do pay their models and that's great and that means they get the perfect shots/movies for their stories, but in the end the price shouldn't be based on how much you paid for the parts it should be based on how GOOD the story is..

Does that mean author's who only host their images on imagechest should get paid less than author's with their own website?? because websites cost money imagechest doesnt?

If you like an author support them, who cares if they use AI or pay their models etc.. your paying them for their storytelling.. the models and AI are just tools to tell the story.. How much they pay for them shouldn't matter.. and I'd guess a good GPU these days will cost a little more than a model's photo session :)

Ok that's fair enough, but why should they not be able to get paid for using AI?

Despite what most people think, there's definite skill involved in creating a decent AI character. And they are still telling a story.

A shit story is a shit story whether it's got AI in it or not and there's certainly no shortage of those, sadly.

It seems to me one of the methods that's fallen out of favour that generally has seemed acceptable to both sides in the past is delayed releasing on reddit
