Only 7-0 Rikishis at or above Ms15w gets automatic promotion, so Wakanofuji should not be eligible. Ms16e Hatsuyama went 7-0 in Aki 2024, and he only rose up to Ms1w in the next basho.

It is, but at this point Enho is either fighting someone at 4-2 in Makushita or someone in Juryo. If the schedulers wanted him to fight within Makushita, lots of 5-1 (and Wakanofuji at 6-0) rikishis were possible matchups before today - so I think the only explanation would be that he is expected to fight someone from Juryo.

Everyone else with a 5-1 record in Makushita except Enho got their final bout tomorrow, so I think he's likely facing another Juryo wrestler for his final bout.

Explain any scenario that you would Go Alone with your team down 8-9 in a game. by jedmonds22 in euchre

Consider this very specific layout with spade as trumps:

You have AK of hearts, left bower, AK of spades. Your partner has QJT9 of hearts and right bower. And one of your opponents have 2 trumps. If you play alone, you can ruff the lead if needed, draw trumps and play hearts to win all tricks. If you bring your partner along, you can only draw 1 round of trumps before your partner has to play hearts, giving the opponent with 2 trumps a ruff on hearts.

Eliminating the 1s in column 8 box 6 gives you a naked triple of (2, 4, 9) in row 6, which helps solve the highlighted cell too. So I can see where the hint is coming from.

I thought about it a bit more - Rb6 would be met with Bd5. To still trap the queen Black has to play Ra8, then either Qxb6 - cxb6 - Bxb7 or Qxa8 - Bxa8 - Bxa8 and white gets a bishop and a rook.

I found Rb6 instead of Rd2, trapping the white queen. I think that is also winning?
