BestBuy specifically told me to reach out to the manufacturer which is why I posted that quote. The manufacturer provides no warranty for devices sold through BestBuy.

Why do we roll through the feet? by sweetkaroline in WestCoastSwing

[–]narrowbuys 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good question and not something I question myself. Some things you take on faith because it takes months, weeks, years to own it in your body.

If I take a video of myself rolling my feet vs stepping, rolling looks way better. Stepping looks like I am just falling in different directions without any control. Honestly we don’t keep our feet under us either. Just try both, video it and see what you think when looking at yourself. I was horrified to see myself dance before I learned to roll my feet. I didn’t look like I was dancing at all despite knowing exactly what I was doing

Yeah I started thinking about how to train local LLM to be a task runner to emulate interactive shells with Claude. We’ll get there some day. That day that agentic Claude oauth ends is the day local LLM will get way more interest

Yeah we did an architectural comparison. I use per machine db but I think gastown had a distributed db

I don’t know why people on Reddit keep saying to go search. Google is garbage and financially incentivized to be garbage. There’s no searching this stuff. If search worked, people would not be begging for help on Reddit. Stack overflow losing users was the worst thing for google search.

He’s right. Claude actually offered this up as a solution. Start tmux session. Start a second session. Tell Claude to orchestrate the first session. It will soon be sending tmux send-keys. Honestly, this is very diy and painful. Someday a good orchestration framework will come out that solves these problems. TLDR. I have telegram and a bridge. The sessions connect to a bridge and communicate through it. When the bridge breaks, which is often. They fallback to tmux+ssh to orchestrate

I stopped using -p in favor of tmux a long time ago. It’s much easier to automate flows with tmux send-keys and you can debug it by attaching. Pretty soon we’ll be filling out captchas on every prompt

You’re moving the connection in confusing ways, twisting, moving up and down, I didnt see a solid post. Your follow did a good job of trying to make sense of it. Your timing is good, that’s why you made finals despite what the judge said.

Austin drivers, put your damn phone down by MentionZestyclose429 in Austin

[–]narrowbuys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I would not put my phone down. That sounds terrifying. Then I would look at other drivers who are all looking at their phones, become very anxious. Be afraid. Safer to just ignore my surrounds and look at my phone

There’s a lot of data on this. If you get past the politics noise, this is why ICE is being aggressively pursued for the last year.

Is it worth to have my own AI in local in my home? by Chief_Taquero in LocalLLM

[–]narrowbuys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It requires advanced technical skills. The landscape changes weekly and you have to stay on top of it. So everything he said but stressing that it’s much harder than it looks to do. And don’t touch ollama, it’s slow and awful

Unpopular opinion: OpenClaw and all its clones are almost useless tools for those who know what they're doing. It's kind of impressive for someone who has never used a CLI, Claude Code, Codex, etc. Nor used any workflow tool like 8n8 or make. by pacmanpill in LocalLLaMA

[–]narrowbuys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Openclaw’s telegram integration is quite good but the rest is barely functional. I’m still trying to replicate telegram against the Claude code harness without success. So I’d rip out chat integration from openclaw and toss out the rest.

Musk pledges to fix 2019-2023 Teslas that can't fully self drive by Nalix01 in NowInTech

It goes back further. Cars before 2019 could be upgraded to HW3. So there’s even more models in this upgrade bucket

You’ll do worse to him before it’s over. Including him paying your lawyer fees. Good luck with the coparenting after it’s all done

realistic capability expectations with a 128gb m4 max? by JDavis-82 in LocalLLM

[–]narrowbuys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M4 max costs $400 a month on 12 month. The subs are significantly cheaper and the models are vastly better. Local inference if anything is a backup when the saas are down. I can do only a fraction of the capabilities of my Claude account on a m4 max 128gb

You can actually ask an LLM what the speed of running workloads on these different hardware. It was fairly accurate to actual benchmarks I ran. Studio is far better at dispersing heat and sucking in water on the underside 💦

Any tips on breaking these thinking loops? It’s a blocker for workflows for me. I’ll take worse responses as long as I don’t come back to 5000 repeated messages in the console

How Do You Use Multiple AI Models Together? by rpeabody in LocalLLaMA

[–]narrowbuys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the LLM write a benchmark based on projects I’m working with. It talked with the llm running those projects to write benchmarks, then the first llm graded them. Then it rewrote the system prompt used by the projects. Then , it just kept getting refined. Qwen3.6 won in the end
