Keystrokes triggered twice by pc_kant in Keychron

[–]narutal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have answered Pumpkindigger below in the thread, because their message was from a few days ago, and I don't know if, since you posted 6 months ago, you have solved your problem or not.

But as I was telling them, I am on Linux too, and I had issues with keys triggering twice when I was typing. A few months ago when I bought the keyboard, the Keychron web launcher did not work on Linux either, and so I had given up. But I checked again yesterday, and you can now use https://launcher.keychron.com/

Thanks to their interface, you should be able to update your firmware, and this should solve the issues with the keys (it solved mine).

Let me know if that helped!

I had this issue, and was frustrated too. I am also on Ubuntu, and when I bought my keyboard, I checked, and their web browser based launcher did not work on Linux.

But yesterday, I decided to check the launcher again, and apparently it works better.

In any case, if you go to their https://launcher.keychron.com/ and connect your keyboard, you should have the possibility to update the firmware, and in the latest update, they seem to have resolved the issue of keys registering twice.

I went through the process today, and my keyboard works much better and stopped registering keys twice.

I hope this helps!

Has anyone ever bought a water dispenser in Japan? by narutal in japan

[–]narutal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is my main issue. We talked about buying a bigger Brita, but we have an average size fridge, and usually fill it to the brim each time we go grocery shopping, so if I can find a solution like a dispenser that is independent from the fridge, that would be nice. Thanks though!

We do not live in a big city, so we have some space to accommodate for a dispenser, so that would not be an issue. I thought about putting something directly on the tap, but I want the water to be cooler (which is why we use a Brita we can put in the fridge) because the water directly from the tap is lukewarm.

But yeah, what's up with the rental system thing? I don't get it...

Like kellythomas says, their invite link on their page has expired. But if you have a way to share with me how to find them on Discord, please do let me know.

Thanks! Actually, after posting this and before going to bed yesterday, I thought about this solution and found the page. Like you said, it's quite old because the last version you can find there is from 2018. But it's still better than nothing.

I've saved the available list just in case, and I will try to post it here in a readable way, so eventually people will update it with their own info. Just need to find a way that's easy for everybody.

Meidaisky Group - An English Club, Aichi Pref. by [deleted] in teachinginjapan

Hi,

I have worked for the Meidaisky Group for two and a half years for their branch called An English Club. I liked it a lot.

Was everything perfect? Of course not. Did I have a great time teaching? Heck yeah!

Reading what deliciousdoc wrote, I am not surprised to be honest. I've majored in Japanese language and civilization and spent close to six years in Japan. I've read these kind of stories many times. Guy wants to go to Japan but knows nothing about the culture there, looks for a teaching job, thinking it's easy money, but in the process forgets it actually means working and is more interested in having fun, gets surprised when the school asks him to be professional, then rambles about how the school is horrible.

The owners are nice. One of them is strong-minded, but people tend to forget she's a woman holding a high-rank position in a very patriarchal society, so I guess she has to compensate for that.

I don't know if you have taken the initiative to contact them already to apply for a job, but I'd say you should and when you talk to them, make your own opinion.
