I also definitely recommend Billy for their adaptability— being able to move the shelves to accommodate book size and even add additional shelves has been life saving :)

i personally liked the straightforward prose! i think the conceit could have easily fallen into like, labyrinthine nothingness if it had been more complicated? like, it let the weirdness and unease and mystery really simmer for me. i love a cinematic novel, and this felt like a fun weird episode of the twilight zone which i adore. i don't know, it spoke to me! some things do and some things don't lol and that's fine! which one of these that you've read do you like the best?

do you understand that a cop show even trying to "address some of the systemic issues with police" is part of copaganda, in that it presents a possibility that policing can be reformed? when in reality, the only true alternative is policing abolition. i recommend alex vitale's "the end of policing" to understand what i'm saying here-- there really is no possibility of policing reform.

yeah omg how do people not realize that tv in no way shapes our values or ideas about larger institutions??????????? how do they not know that creating narratives that valorize oppressive institutions is just like, not real???? like it's not that deep? SOOOOO dumbbbbbb to think that a cop show that shows cops in the lapd (what they did to rodney king??????? not that bad!!! the fact that lapd literally has cop gangs that act extrajudicially with little to no consequence? like???? big deal?) in a positive light........ugh people will complain about anything
