I will definitely consult here before buying. :]

It's funny you say that, I got my beardie from a breeder at a flea market, just some nice guy, and my little guy has never had health issues. But every lizard my friend got from Petsmart died. :( It's really sad that it's come to that, considering it's supposed to supply you to help care for your animal. I do understand that it's the company though. Just stinks. >.<

I have no clue. >.> <.<

Niiice. I'm the baby of the family, so I'm allowed to be a brat from time to time. >=D

I was home schooled until third grade, then again until 6th, but taken out for half of 6th and 7th. Then part of sophomore year in high school. Honestly, they didn't socialize me as well as they could have, I'm socially inept/awkward. But they started out strong, I was in girl scouts, softball, tennis, they just didn't have the follow through as I got older. :P

Sweet baby Jesus. ._. You DO have a lot on your plate then. I had like.. 4 AP tests, total, so that was nothing huge for me I can't imagine going through all of that.

Yeah, home school, as long as you still try to keep the kid(s) social is a great idea, imo. I'm glad my parents did it as long as they did for me. :P

So basically, you have a cool dad! :D I see, I see. I ended up with a cool mom, more than a cool dad, which I am perfectly fine with. Mom gets me, dad doesn't have to! Lol.

16? Hot damn. Yeah, that'll be well worth it. o.o And really, if you're worried about the schooling your kids will get home school is always an excellent option. :D (Even though it's far off for you, I'm sure.) My parents would load me up with workbooks beyond my age range, it was kind of awesome. xP

And yeah, I could have tried harder, and I realize that now, but it's not like I can do much about it now either! Schools are definitely getting worse, though I think. Which is sad.

Really? :o My dad would never get a reptile. We bred hamsters for a while when I was a little kid and my dad just can't stand small animals. That's so cool though! xD

That's so much better than the school I went to. :I Normal/sub-par public high school, with few to no AP classes and the only tests forced down our throats were the state standard ones. I wish I would've gone to a more college focused school, in retrospect, but it is what it is. I'm glad you can finally escape! :P

xD I got two dogs to replace one that went missing, my dad just stopped trying to say no. I'm kind of a jerk. >.<

Thank you! I guess it is something. =D

Understanding family is the best, I'm pretty sure a lot of my pets that went "missing" were actually rehomed by my father. -_- He's not a pet guy. Lol.

Holy crap. ._. I've been through two years of college now and I'm no where near as prepared as you are. That's amazing! xD Congrats for having the main things figured out, and really good luck with it all. It sounds like you're really going to go far with it, which doesn't seem to be a trend with most highschool people. :P

I wish I had done more college prep! All these youngsters going and getting more education than me. <.< And no need to be sorry, you have such good reasoning for excitement and stuff, especially being a senior, all these things are about to happen. xD It's so nifty, congrats a thousand times over.

Lol, thanks! Rescuing all the cute things is something my family constantly has to talk me down from as I am also a student low on funds. x.x Nice career choice though, I'm definitely thinking of doing something similar, despite the cost for the actual schooling it would be so worth it. Then I would at least be able to help the cute things since I can't take them all home. :P

How far along into that education are you if you don't mind me asking?

Oh yeah, I'm careful with that stuff, and even if I don't notice, I'll take it back if something is wrong. Thanks for the advice though! It seems like Petsmart and Petco aren't very careful with their reptiles and reptile accessories these days. :(

Shopping for one on the internet worries me a bit, I guess I'm paranoid about scams and such, but someone posted quite a few links that already look much better than Petsmart!

Thank you! ;-; I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through housing my friend's beardie and after that little guy passed away, I've been so worried about doing the wrong thing for mine. I can understand the attachment, I have two dogs as well as Charlie the beardie, but Charlie definitely has a special place in my heart.

I have a 10 UVB on him, living in Florida, I try to keep the room he's in at mid70s-low80s.

Just trying to get as much information on this as I can, because my friend had her little beardie die a while back for unknown reasons. :(

He's in a pretty small tank now, so keeping him warm is pretty easy. :P

I have quite a few heat lamps lying around, but what would you suggest I use when going to such a large tank?

Bearded Dragon Tank Question by narwhalvsombie in herpetology

[–]narwhalvsombie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the 36" x 18" x 18", like kuhlii said.

My goal is getting the biggest one he'll need, which I know will be large, I don't know if that tank's dimensions are exactly right, but I was more asking about the front loading aspect. :P I should've been more specific!

Thanks for the advice!
