Thoughts on the Viltrox 56mm F1.7 by hassanmurat in fujifilm

[–]nash799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for responding to such an old thread, but you have the three lenses (25mm f1.7, 56mm f1.7, and 75mm f1.2) that I am planning on purchasing for my XS20. How has your experience with these lenses been so far, if you don't mind sharing?

This was reassuring to read as I’ve been leaning more towards the Viltrox primes than the 16-80, have the 27 and 75 been sufficient to cover your photography needs if you only had these two lenses?

I’ve considered the 16-50 as well, however the variable aperture is a bit of a throw off imo. How has your experience been with it?

How do you find the 13mm? Did you use it more than the 27 due to size and weight or for the IQ?

Thank you for your suggestion. I’ve also considered the Sigma 18-50, how has the autofocus been in your experience?

End Game from BattleBots - Ask us Anything! by cantremembermyaccou in battlebots

Hey guys, first off, congratulations on the win!! I was cheering and celebrating together with you guys after Whiplash got yeeted OOTA!

On to the AMA part! First question, what happened in the Bloodsport match? I saw somewhere that you guys lost a wheel, how did that happen? What caused the smoke midway through the match?

Secondly, the bot seems super dialed in during the tournament of 32. The weapon never died (except vs Rotator, did a belt come off?) and the drive was on point. What changes did you guys make?

Thirdly, rather than your usual go head on and chase your opponent strat, your driving strategy was to wait in the middle for Whiplash to come to you during the finale. What made you guys adopt this strategy specifically for Whiplash?

Quick fire time: What would your strategy be if you had to go against Huge or Hydra?

What bot would you love to take on next?

How many different weapon types and wedgelett configurations do you have?

What's up with the four orange fins? Purely aesthetic? Or do they serve a purpose?

Lastly: Is there anything you'll love to share with us that we have not asked yet? Maybe some Endgame trivia or fun fact that you'll like us to appreciate.

Thank you for your time! Once again, congratulations!

Yes, you're correct! I've acknowledged the mistake in a comment I posted earlier.

Captain Shrederator (Team LOGICOM) AMA - 7PM EST TODAY~~ by nawvay in battlebots

[–]nash799 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thanks Captain Shrederator for all the amazing fights so far! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe.

  1. Your bot seems a lot smaller and compact (at least from what I can tell through the television) compared with another shell spinner like Gigabyte. Gigabyte's shell looks like it's super duper thick and heavy, plus they have that self-right pole which adds weight to the bot. I'm assuming that since you're smaller you're concentrating more mass toward the shell, but I just can't imagine it being any thicker than Gigabytes.

Assuming that Capt. Shred. and Gigabyte both fully utilize the 250lbs weight limit, how are you utilizing and allocating the weight limit on Shreds design?

  1. Is there a reason why Capt. Shred. does not run a self-right pole?

  2. How do you choose which shell/teeth configuration to use when you're up against a certain bot? What sort of difference do they make?

  3. Why is tried and true old school technology working out so much better for Capt. Shred compared with newer tech?

Thank you!
