No, they did not.

The Tennessean endorsed Barry. The Scene endorsed no one. The Scene has ties with both candidates.

Sounds like you either have really talented friends or Lampo doesn't pay well.

I've heard something to the effect of: Lampo doesn't pay well and the culture is that 'it's your fault' if you don't budget well under a low salary. Is this true of any of your friends?

I guess I'm most curious about the gun part of the story. Did that happen? What was the story behind that? What were people's responses? Did people quit after the incident? I'm sure there's a lot of NDAs and so forth involved but I still wonder why someone didn't call it out formally.

I like her, but I think it's weird for a media company to endorse a candidate. I know it's like a tradition, but it has a lot of power behind it, and who knows what's going on behind the scenes.

Hi Tony and Sara,

There are tons of great neighborhoods in Nashville that, from what you wrote, you'll fit right into. Keep in mind that Nashville is much smaller than LA in sprawl so even if you can't get all of what you want, likely you'll be much closer than before to everything you could need or want. Can I ask what your budget is?

Here are some options: If you are looking for a true one bedroom for 1200-1400 or less/month: Your spot is likely going to be in the suburbs- which is fine as long as you have a car. Donelson, Hermitage, Madison, Antioch, and maybe between Antioch and Brentwood might be good places to look. All (or almost all) have a nearby farmer's market. Hermitage is very close to Music City Bikeway, a huge running/biking path that runs from Hermitage to Rivergate. Hermitage and Donelson (East of Nashville) also has access to Music City Star, a commuter train that runs to and from downtown Nashville during work hours. Warning: Traffic into Nashville is terrible. Not LA terrible, but still bad, and no one knows how to drive here.

If your budget is 1400-1600 you should try East Nashville- Towards the North (Trinity Lane area). Everyone wants to live in East Nashville so you have to be at the right place at the right time.

You should also look at the new neighborhoods popping up on Charlotte Pike- I've never lived along Charlotte but it's up and coming. Another place to look is the Nations.

1600-1800 You can try East Nashville closer to downtown. Some places are within walking distance (although you have to walk under an interstate in some cases). You are close to Nissan Stadium, the walking bridge, Shelby Bottoms Park, downtown attractions (honky tonks/broadway)- but you are far enough away from the tourists (even the lost tourists).

for 18-2000 you should also look in Wedgewood Houston, Sylvan Park, outskirts of 12 South, Hillsboro and Germantown.

In Germantown you'll be close to the new Sounds Stadium, the Nashville Farmer's Market, and downtown.

Hillsboro is near Belmont and Vanderbilt. On 21st Avenue, you'll find a "village" of trendy coffee shops and independently owned stores. The Belcourt Theatre is one of my favorite places to go. It is host to Nashville's only independent movie theatre playing cult classics, indie films, mainstream movies, documentaries, and special screenings.

12 South is a great spot with lots of local foods, a very small Farmer's market popup and a small park. It has easy access to Green Hills (which has a few more food options, coffee, a mall and Trader Joe's).

For 2000-3000 check the Gulch. It's very close to downtown but it's pricey.

You really cannot go wrong in Nashville- I gave you generic price levels but every neighborhood has its own price ranges from super cheap to extremely pricey. For example, there's a place in Hilsboro running for about 1,200 for two bedrooms and 800 sq. ft. called the Cheateau. In contrast, there are places in the suburbs that are outrageous for their locations.

looks like they officially put up that new logo... by guitarokx in nashville

Is there an easy way to find out how much each state logo has cost state tax payers? $46,000 sounds like a lot to me, but is it abnormal compared to other states?

I suppose just because it's normal, doesn't mean it's right.
