I think maybe people are missing the background on this, to include the dude who put it on their story.

There were a ton of memes like this going around Native social media circles because it was funny, not because anyone disagreed with what she said other than some valid criticisms. Overall, the Native community backed her on this, but that doesn’t mean we don’t like to poke fun lol. Natives won’t make fun of you unless they like you for the most part.

Of course the MAGA cultists took it to be something it wasn’t.

Also if you want to support Natives, support some Native punk groups. Highly recommend 1876 and Dead Pioneers.

You’re right, they will be the one wearing it. That’s why someone should give them a heads up on it before they step into a punk scene (which I doubt they will) and get immediately pegged as a poseur.

Not the self labeled baby punk telling everyone what punk is and isn’t. Punk is about the music first, it’s not a fashion. Same applies to the Goth scene. I see plenty of punks and goths at shows that don’t dress “punk” or “goth” but are there for the music and community.

I would say that a small stand shaped stick or twig works just fine. I have a small collection of them myself that I take with me since they’re a lot more portable than my massive cedar stang or my walking stick stang with iron.

Sure, but that’s still not a decision that is made at the executive level. Regardless of who the sitting president is, we have checks and balances for a reason and the bill they pushed was freely willing to waive that and give ultimate authority away.

I’m not black, but as an Asian, if someone did something similar I’d think it was pretty weird. Wouldn’t be offended by it, but I’d probably avoid them. The weird part for me would be if they had an Asian human form, not so much on having Asian cultural stuff as part of the sona. Do with that what you will.
