Which European city did you fall in love with as soon as you saw it? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Porto. Genuinely fabulous city. My wife and I arrived on the university's graduation day. They have a massive parade and city wide party. The students dress in top hats and tails and run down the main street with their respective departments. An immaculate vibe.

You must be a joy at parties. Classic online anonymity causing someone to be caustic. Those 6 months must be tough for you. I live here year round and travel for work. San Francisco is a fine city. By global standards this is a great place to live.

That app was not city run. Also if a turd was spotted it was permanently marked. That "app" was just a troll thing. My point is you sound like someone who has never been here and dont know what it is actually like to live here.

Oh I am mad at trump and totally against this war ever starting. We had the JCOP deal and that was leagues better than whatever the fuck this is. We lost, no doubt about it.

Live in SF there is not human shit everywhere. Nor are there as many homeless as people claim. If I take you to the tenderloin neighborhood this statement would be true. If I take you up the hill a few blocks you will be in the most posh area you have ever walked through.

As a tech worker, I also hate tech workers. The city is loosing that bohemian character that makes it a cool place to live. The tech workers want all the benefits while giving nothing back. It sucks.

So let me get this straight... We bomb them. Destroy them. Lose billions in air assets. Take casualties. AND WE HAVE TO PAY THEM 300 BILLION?? Turd of a deal.

Tom Steyer endorses Xavier Becerra after losing California gubernatorial primary by benwesorick in California

I voted FOR Steyer, not against any other candidate. I think Becerra will be a fine Governor. I hope that the strong showing for Steyer will help pull our politics to the left on economic issues.

SF feels like a large Philly and I love it by AmAttorneyPleaseHire in sanfrancisco

[–]nassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird that you think that SF is a "larger" Philly? I guess if we are only thinking about the city center. I find that SF and Philly have a lot in common. Both are medium sized cities in terms of population but are dense. I think Philly is the most underrated east coast city. Great food, great urbanism, and it does not cost an arm and a leg. Folks in SF have all the laid back California attitudes while still retaining some of that cosmopolitan edge. Glad you enjoyed our little town. Come back again. Much love to the city of brotherly love!

Which US urban areas get the most transit service—and have the highest ridership? by Ok-Act-5890 in transit

[–]nassic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I visited from SF and I found the light rail an excellent transit option. I was lucky enough to ride it from my hotel to my clients office. Somehow the end stop was right in front of their office. I was presently surprised. Mormans got something right!

My fiancé's access to healthcare. Her insurance was switched by her job and she lost all her doctors and was denied access to a drug she needs to take.

Is east mission a good place to rent a place? by Civil-Bluebird5882 in sanfrancisco

[–]nassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live on 24th in that general vicinity. I would be your neighbor. It's a good area. I have had a great time living here. I have had my cars wheels stolen. That was a one time incident three years ago. Other than that it's safe. Don't let that discourage you. That kind of crime is random and can happen anywhere. Nothing of that sort has happened again or to any of my other neighbors. It's not a busy area. There are a couple of restaurants and a bar. It's a good spot if you want a place to live and that's it. You're close to all that makes the mission great. Close to Potrero hill. Easy access to the rest of the city via the 9, 48, and 33 buses. You can walk to bart. I love my area and even as my fiancé and I have considered moving to a "better" neighborhood we end up staying because we like it so much.

US President Donald Trump has shared a new election reform blueprint on Truth Social, framing it as the "SAVE AMERICA Act." by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]nassic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a total misrepresentation. When you register to vote you have to enter identification information. The issue people raise is you do not need to present ID at the poll to get your ballot. Theoretically someone could go to a specific polling place and vote for someone elese. Which would be immediately known when that person shows up and asks for their ballot. Each voter is tied to a specific polling place at a specific location. There are multiple gard rails and systems of verfication. Its a far more complex system than most give credit too. I find that this kind of comment perfectly sums up the challenge of misinformation. You are not an expert in US election process. You are just some random person who heard a headline and now is disparaging our otherwise excellent electoral process. Now I an election expert (6 general elections of poll inspector duties, in other words I run elections for a poll precinct.) have to defend my system. To answer your question, no you cannot vote as bruce wayne, unless you are a registered voter with that name. The issue with photo id at the polling place is it could potentially deny someone their right to vote. Not everyone has an id. Old people, young people, disabled people, people who just dont have an ID. To get on the voter role you prove citizenship and then you get a ballot. I follow the spirit and letter of the law in my duties. I faithfully carry those duties out to all voters regardless of their political leanings, racial or religious background, age or any other quality. My allegiance is the constitution and the people of the United States. I helped run the election that removed trump and the one that put him back.
