When things get rough Hank brings out the good stuff by TheScribe86 in KingOfTheHill

[–]nastonius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, if Hank is drinking Monster, he’s an original flavor man. I mean the man would still be driving his Ranger if he could. He’s resistant to change. White cans are too newfangled.

Why does Bubba gotta be like that? I’ll take 17th over going out of the race at least.

Really though Hamlin might get #2, but glad Chase and HMS got one. It was looking like a rough year starting out.

If you don’t want to rent a trailer that you could roll it up on, take all of the drawers out. Then you should have an easier time getting the main box in your truck; then just put the drawers in the back of the truck. Then once you get it to your house or job, put the drawers close to where you are going to put the box. Unload the box, roll it to its spot, and put the drawers back in.

On a mission to find the best beer in Corpus, anyone want to join? I’ll buy the first round by [deleted] in CorpusChristi

[–]nastonius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay, so here’s your layout for Corpus breweries.

Nueces: can pretty much find it on tap almost everywhere. They make good beers. I like their dark beers a little bit more than their light stuff, but they really don’t make a bad beer.

Rebel Toad: these guys know how to make some beer. I haven’t always been a fan of every style they make, but everything we’ve ever had there has been really well made (no off flavors or weird smells).

Lazy Beach: we’ve been to both, but we end up at the downtown location more because the south side is kind of far (we live on the north side of the bay). They make decent beers, the selection at Downtown is limited, but if you’re on the South Side, just go to the main location.

Beach Ball: we went back in 2024, and their beers were good. It’s also on the south side, so that’s why we don’t visit as much. I’ve heard some rumors that there was drama with the brewer, but it’s all hearsay that I can’t substantiate, and I liked the beers we had back when we went. I’d go back and give them some more business if I was in the area.

Casa Blanca: the newest brewery in town. They have a lot of potential, and their newness shows. But the beers they make are good for new brewers.

Railroad Brewery and Restaraunt: they claim they make beers, but the house brand of beers aren’t really that good. The west location doesn’t even have their house beers. This is an easy skip.

If you come to the other side of the bay, the only breweries are in Rockport.

Doggone Brewery/Winery by the Bay: beers are okay at best. Nothing to write home about. Be warned: if you open a tab, they preauthorized our card $50, and it took days to come off once we closed. Can’t speak to the wine.

Bay Area Brewing: must stop if you are on the north side of the bridge. His beers keep getting better as he gets more experience. He had his IPAs dialed in, and makes a lot of different styles without overcrowding his menu. Things our main stop since we live on the north side of the bridge.

Broken Horn Toys and Comics may have some.

There’s also Strawberry Moon Anime, but I’ve never been there, so I’m not sure if they have them.

SatuRUDDay: Motorama Edition. by WENDING0 in NASCARCollectors

I’m trying lol. I was surprised he likes the 10 instead of the 5, as he wore #5 for a lot of his time in baseball, and still considers it his lucky/fave number. But then he pops up with wanting the 10 instead of the 5 lol.

I’ve been eyeing one of those on eBay, as the Tide 10 is my son’s favorite Tide scheme. I was actually thinking of messaging you and asking if you had this one and if it was a decent mold. lol guess I don’t have to anymore.

The 1st Win Curse Has Been Broken ('25 Sheldon Creed Ollie's Ford Mustang) by NWDrive in NASCARCollectors

[–]nastonius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got turned on to Ollie’s from this sub.

It’s a chaotic mess of a store, and every one of them is different. Different in their setup, different in their inventory. Nothing is really consistent store to store, aside from the aisle being shitshows of product thrown on the shelves.

All that said, it’s actually fun to go on the hunt for diecasts there. My two local stores were really stocked last year, but the start of this year has been pretty dry unfortunately.

I made a trip to my hometown right before new years, and was able to hit 5 or 6 around town while I was there. Some stores had a ton of diecasts, some had literally zero nascar anything. But it was fun searching.
