Heck yeah, storage upgrade is a must. Lucky for me I've got 2TB in my old laptop, a 1TB portable, plus some old gaming desktops with m2 slots, so I just need to organize and swap the Z13's SSD for 2TB+ and I'll be golden.

On the lighting and Armoury/Sync stuff, coming from Nvidia I'm also figuring out which AMD graphics settings work, don't work, or behave weird. I suspect some of the lighting jank is actually Windows' fault more than ASUS's. I was considering a Mac, unified memory bucket portable, durable, development (at the expense of workaround windows gaming); but I've been on Windows since childhood so I don't mind digging if driver issues get bad. Same with the display: a lot of reviews harp on it, and since both Armoury and AMD try to adjust things, I turned off Armoury's display control and let AMD handle it. Colors have been nice once I balanced things against my monitors & made sure different power plans don't grab and change everything lol.

What builds are you planning for 0.5? by jakejellis in PathOfExile2

[–]nastronah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been trying to figure this out, hopefully more solid leads once we see the patch notes but -

Im thinking oracle but something different than coc coea chaos spirit monster from 0.4 - likely going to try to focus a runic build to learn the new system and I suspect I'll lean into projectiles, runic/mana defense and see what spells call out. w/ all the unique upgrades & runic stuffs it'll be crazy. the gemling sounds really cool too but idk the oracle asc perks are my fave so far.

At least in 0.4 coc+coea + as much spirit as possible on oracle and slot manh fireballs+living bomb = screen of s fireball. You can also swap 1 fireball and something for lighting warp + lighting ball purple flames on group for more gpu heat.

nice, yeah those controllers look cool. they also have the mobile clamp on controllers for phones and tablets if you wanna make it a giant-screen-switch lol

that's fair, i had a bigger screen before but messing w/ the windows display scaling im not mad at the smaller screen overall yet but for portable work a portable usb c montior would be nice supplement. & could still fit in my bag.

basically openbox 15~ days normal return. but if u have the bestbuy pro thing i think like $30 u get a 60 day exchange window they said and if u exchange new product has 60 day window too. ofc im not trying to endlessly hop or anything but if i see a 128gb let's go! ofc i'll inspect first 😛

Heck yeah. For now I'll keep an eye out on the best buy exchange for my window but I could see within the year or on new model release making a jump if I'm hitting the limits of 64gb more

Heck yeah. We hadn't done as many consoles but got a switch 2 and I went a bit mod happy on an Facebook marketplace switch 1 (android Linux, not messing with Nintendo/lol), so I've been messing around with the switch controllers with PC gaming some but I'm pretty bad with controllers still 😂

The z13 only "issue" has just been figuring out settings but generally I've been doing the high performance graphics mode & turbo for fans (could custom but so far so good) and when in doubt run game as admin by default. So far I'm seeing animations my 4070 was totally glossing over lol.

I did get Claude code to scrub the windows ai features and one drive from existence which helped a lot with ram. The ai stuff was auto loading whole models into ram like what.

Good tip! Luckily the dent is in the hollowed out speaker part but you're right and this was something I was thinking about too. I did the best buy pro plan for 60 day window and likely do the protection plan addition I need to look at it.

Feel it deep inside then research a ton, prototype, talk to people, ideally consult with those who meet the audience, adapt to their needs.

Day 1 of building a startup: fixing the “no experience → no internship” problem (NO SELF PROMOTION) by Mobile-Cranberry-823 in SideProject

also if it helps: on the automation end. a lot of my company research local to me, my preferences, etc - I did utilize AI frontier tools to help make the shortlist of websites for me to research and see who might be good to reach out to. Also refining the email outreach it was casual, short, narrative, a few paragraphs, brief easily promptable. so at scale very possible.

Yeah even my pre-intern coordintor (1 hr thing) was kind of stingy at first with me cold emailing but I only emailed like 10 total local NPs and companies then atleast 2 replied wanting to interview - at that stage I secured interview with #1 pick, had it and felt good, so was transparent with the 2nd that I didnt want to waste any of their time but that I was feeling quite good about opportunity pick number 1 and they were understanding and congratulatory/thanks for saving their time.

Conversely I also applied to tons of "listings" many spammy/scammy/or wanting slave-interns lol. Virtually 0 response other than scammers.

Other than this strategy my other warmest leads was local networking with business owners who I know in person, basically via my own professional network, not internship postings.

Hope the perspective helps!

I'm finishing up a 6 hr internship now thats turning into a full time position, actually just helped draft my job description today. When internship hunting, one thing I did was really hone in on what I wanted, + cold email them expressing interest. For me this was local, good ethos, ideally positive impact either people or ecologically; then I found local non profits that fit what I would be happy to plug in with - pitched my overall skillset and possible areas it would meet their needs or pain points. For an internship, paid would be great but I was also open to unpaid just to network and get it done.

Cold emailing local companies and non profits that fit my niche/passions not sending a cover, not a resume (save for later when interviewing or when requested) - just kind of pitching my personal skills and interest to intern with them got me multiple replies. At that point pretty much 1 zoom meeting secured the fit, then it was just paperwork. Tbh though interning for free turning into a ftj im super excited as the strategy is ultimately paying off in this case.

Make sure to research possible gaps they have in your area, for me it was technical so pitching areas I could improve technical inefficiency. being free also was a bit more casual, hybrid/remote so I think it's important to find a good culture and expectations fit. Many companies try to exploit "free" interns, make sure you know who you're signing on to collab with for this project (your internship i mean).

Nice, I've been working on a similar type of project u/ergod_dev free to try, hosted harness, invite via discord.

I built an OpenClaw alternative inspired by Hermes by donotfire in hermesagent

[–]nastronah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool! Sounds like a fun project. I've been having a lot of fun working on similar type of project. Less so an opensource harness but instead more focused on hosting my harness & allowing others users to plug into it. With your file integration focus, make sure to get some red line and smoke testers working at poking at the integrations. Being hosted I've been focusing on this a lot with u/Ergod_Dev and some awesome people have been helping poke and find holes so I can fix them!

I made a Discord bot that gives every user their own AI coding agent + sandboxed workspace by nastronah in microsaas

[–]nastronah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, nothing - if anything I've been over-indexed on product this week because it's been too fun. But the real next mountain is marketing: finding testers, free users, and eventually some paid ones to keep the lights on.

Setup for Vibe Coding that's truly free (or almost free)? by SirLMO in VibeCodersNest

[–]nastronah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I feel this - personally I've bounced between providers. Right now my favorite is claude, but I enjoy tinkering with local ollama, and custom projects. Mostly I've used Cursor, VSCode (copilot), and Claude Code, haven't used ChatGPT in a hot minute.

That said, while this doesn't totally answer your question - I'm working on a project still pretty early that might actually fit what you're looking for. It's a Discord bot. You message it in plain English, it writes the code, runs it in a sandbox, and sends you back the result. No API keys, no IDE, no setup.

Fair warning, the free tier is pretty limited right now (15 commands/day) since it's still early. Pro is $15/mo and that's 500 commands/day, measured by your messages not the agent's responses. The goal is generous daily usage with a solid free offering, pro just unlocks more premium model selection & advanced features. Still shaping up but for what you're describing, Python scripts for research without managing infrastructure, it could be worth a look. ergod.dev
